This CD, "Die Welt ist Schon Milord" (The World is Beautiful, Milord) is a combination of Mireille Mathieu's early German hits, reframings of her French songs, and her later German recordings. It contains sixteen songs. Overall, it is a very good combination. Her early German hits included are: "Vai colomba blanca" (Fly White Dove); "Aloa-he" (Aloha Oi); "Der Zar und Das Madchen" (The Tzar and the Maiden); "Akropolis adieu"; "Ganz Paris ist ein Theater" (All Paris is a Theater); and "La Paloma ade" (La Paloma Goodbye). The reframed songs are: "Santa Maria" which uses the music of "Santa Maria de la Mer"; "Ein leben auf dem Land" (I Live in the Country) which uses the music of "Une fille a marier" (A Girl to Marry); "Die Welt ist schon, Milord" which uses the music of "Milord", the Piaf song; and "C'est si bon (so fuhlt man in Paris)" which uses the music of "C'est si bon" (It's so Good). The newer German songs are: "Mein letzer Tanz" (My Last Dance); "Die Liebe einer Frau" (The Love of a Woman); "Bei mir bist du zu Haus" (You are to Live in My House); "Bleib noch da" (Stay Right There); and, "Nur der Himmel war Zeuge" (Only Heaven was Witness). Ms. Mathieu sings all of these songs well. I particularly liked: "Ein Leben auf dem Land" which sounds better to me than the French original; "Bei mir bist du zu Haus"; and "Bleib noch da". Additionally, she sings two songs extraordinarily well, regardless of the language used. These two songs are "Die Welt ist schon, Milord" and "C'est si bon". Overall, a very good CD of Mireille Mathieu's German recordings.

I have been a great fan of this lady's music for many years. Anyone who hears her sing will come back for more.

Uwe Hubner presents Mireille Mathieu «Die Welt Ist Schon Milord» is printed on the cover of the CD. The album has been released a few times through out the years and with different tracklisting, this latest edition is presented under Uwe Hubner & Hit Paradies. The songs are all top notch, Mireille's distinguished style and French class shine through from her early `Die Glocken Von Notre Dame' & `Ganz Paris Ist Ein Theater' to the most spellbinding tracks on the CD `Bleib Noch Da' & "Nur Der Himmel War Zeuge".
The cover shown here is different than on the CD, also there is a small essay about Uwe Hubner on the back.

"Die Weld Ist Schon Milord" features Mireille Mathieu's Classic recordings, in German. "Akropolis Adieu", "Paloma Ade", "Vai Colomba Blanca"... A big number of tracks are familiar, Mireille has recorded most of them previously in French. This album is a good insight at her German Repertoire.
