Size Name: (24x32) Unframed
The work of Diego Rivera's "La Noche de Los Pobres," is a strong representation of Rivera's work. He is making a statement with this print, in that the subject matter is that of a poor family and their close attachment. The topic matter of family unity takes central focus and his figures fully fills and overlap in the frame. We can see the flow and movement of an invisible line of the picture moving from the top left corner in a diagonal pattern to the bottom central area where the mother's hand is outstreached. The child's head is leaning against his mother while he sleeps content, knowing that he is safe there at his mother's knee. This connection of the mother and child can be felt on a subliminal level. While some people may pity the family for not having a home to sleep in we can see the other attributes that the artist is portraying.
