From the Publisher
After their arrival in San Diego, Ruth and Robert Ritchie fell in love with the city--also with the rough, dynamic and often touching stories of the town's pioneer days. These condensed "tidbits" are some of their favorites, discovered and written down in entertaining form for all ages.
From the Author
After retirement, my husband Robert--born in North Carolina, has lived in many parts of Europe-- changed his lifelong hobby (writing) with my active participation into an exciting accomplishment and has written 22 works in 12 years. He passed away in March 1998. I myself --born in Germany, also lived in England before coming to the US--founded a publishing company for small editions, memoirs, family history and, of course, our own books, in 1995.
We both received awards as local authors in 1996,1997 and 1998. La Jolla Light, University City Light and the German newspaper "Neue Presse" wrote raving reviews about the book and a radio interview was done by Shadow Broadcasting Service.
