Dr.Keegan has written many books and articles ove thte past 40 years, he is an excellent author and expert. Dien Bien Phu has been one of my main intrest for over 35 years. So when I read this I was bit lost. Ballentine Books back in the very years 70's (1970's for those to young to rememeber)put out a series of books (well over 125 and I have most of them). The books were short and explain "not in to much detail" about a battle or campagin...some were about weapons and military leaders.

Back to the book it is give you a basic outline of hte french war in INDO-CHINA and about Dien Bien Phu. I enjoy it's quick read.maps and charts. It is worth the effector to find a copy and keep it.
