Book Description

Some sacrifices should never be made—even for love.

Mikayel lives by one rule—obey the orders of the angelic Council at all costs. That is, until he and his friends, Azza and Demi, are sent to Earth. Assigned as Watchers while they await their decision of which angelic order to serve, the three assume the bodies of teenagers and experience life as human.

The sensations are overwhelming as the angels experience a host of human emotions—rage, terror, love—and come ever closer to breaking one of the unbreakable rules—never fall in love.

But being human isn’t the only problem facing the three angels. Unbeknownst to the Council, demonic activity is on the rise, threatening to break a tenuous peace that has existed for a millennia; a peace Azza seems bent on destroying.

Caught in a struggle for power with unseen demonic forces and Azza, and fighting against his rising emotional attachment to Demi, Mikayel must now decide how much he is willing to sacrifice for his new found love—a decision that could reignite an ancient war and will threaten the only thing that matters to the angels, the survival of humanity.

Ooooo... If this novella is indicative of the rest of the books in the series, this is going to be very addicting story. I can't wait for the rest of the Requiem series!

5.0 out of 5 stars An Excellent Introduction to the Requiem Series January 26, 2012
Format:Kindle Edition|Amazon Verified Purchase
DIES IRAE is a fabulous introduction to the Requiem series, which is coming in March. It follows Azza and Mikayel as they're on the beginning of their angelic duties. With a quick pace and a heavy dose of emotional torment -- something I really like! -- throughout, I really enjoyed this novella.

5.0 out of 5 stars beautiful, authentic story January 5, 2013
Format:Kindle Edition|Amazon Verified Purchase
LOVED how it opened up the Azza character and helped us know Mikayel better!
My only quibble was I felt like I didn't know Demi well enough.
Regardless, it was beautifully done.
This felt like it could be its own, full-length novel!
LACRIMOSA fans will really like this one~

More About the Author

As an author of both nonfiction and YA novels, I have dedicated my life to helping people of all ages find their voice in a noisy world. In fiction, I craft psychological thrillers and sweeping romances that will take the reader on an emotional roller coaster ride through through the darker aspects of humanity, exploring themes that include sacrifice, love, and madness. My titles include the Gothic romance, Lacrimosa (part of the Requiem Series), and the Phantom of the Opera Inspired psychological thriller, Transcend (part of the Phantom Chronicles).

In nonfiction, I draw on my training as an educational psychologist and address the issues of emotional intensity, resiliency, and giftedness, writing books for children, teens, parents and educators. My titles include Emotional Intensity in Gifted Students and 101 Success Secrets for Gifted Kids and the much awaited The Girl Guide: Finding Your Place in a Mixed-Up World, releasing in April 2013.

I live in Southern California with my husband and daughters. When I am not working with children or hanging out with the family, I can be found sipping too many skinny vanilla lattes at my favorite coffee shop as I write my next book or play around online.
