5.0 out of 5 stars A Gift
I received this book as a gift from a friend. I am one of those fortunate people who has never had to diet. So I was intrigued as to the purpose of this gift. I started the book, and found myself unable to put it down. As a "Life Coach", I quickly realized the purpose of this wonderful gift. I have many clients that face similar struggles as Cate. Their battle with weight...

1.0 out of 5 stars disappointing read
I expected this book to be stories of different women and their troubles with weight. It was the story of one woman and once we heard about her life the rest of the book just described the diet she decided to use. Really not what I expected and quite boring.

A great book, with many great lessons!

5.0 out of 5 stars The knowledge you learn from books, June 25, 2006
This review is from: The Diet (Hardcover)
This was and is a very special book as it is so healthy. The way to eat is really common knowledge but we have been bombarded by junk food in this country to the extent that we do not know what good really is. Our taste buds have been given bad foods for so long that it has changed our mind sets. Let us get back to good wholesome foods and get our health and lives back. Thank you J Hurner

4.0 out of 5 stars The Diet, June 29, 2006
This review is from: The Diet (Hardcover)
While reading this story about Cate, I found myself not being able to put this book down. I read it in one evening. I wanted so much for Cate to succeed with her weight loss. And at the same time thinking if she can do it, so could I. She did it and I am working on it. I have currently lost 40lbs!

1.0 out of 5 stars One of the worst books ever written!!, August 1, 2010
Amazon Verified Purchase(What's this?)
This review is from: The Diet (Hardcover)
I knew this book was a work of fiction by a diet book author, but I thought it might be inspiring for someone that is always looking for motivation. Instead I got antiquated soap opera type problems of unbelievable proportions for this woman. (Ex: I can't possibly have a career AND a baby!) Her end "result" the "diet" is ridiculous, expensive and puts her first in line for a heart attack. I guess being "skinny" is all that matters in the end. Ridiculous book. I am not even going to mention the editing...which is a travesty!

5.0 out of 5 stars A Very Tasty Book, July 23, 2006
This review is from: The Diet (Hardcover)
This is a very creative, fun and inspiring book. This is not about a fad diet but about how to get real food into your day. The recipes and food tips and descriptions of food and meals and menus are yummy. If you are looking for fun ways to enjoy fruits, vegetables and even get more fiber (no-calorie carb) then this book is great.

The Diet was a fascinating read and contains the true essence of what a diet really is (and should be). I loved this book and how it shares powerful advice for losing weight... without being just *another* diet book. The ability to tell a story like this in fiction - but still give the advice necessary to those wanting to lose weight is admirable.

If you are serious about losing weight the right way - without getting all wrapped up in another fad or diet gimmick - GET THIS BOOK!

The advice is easy to follow and the meals are delicious... plus Cate's story is great to follow... and the twist at the end is great.

All in all, a fantastic book.

5.0 out of 5 stars I would definitely recommend this book, June 5, 2006
This review is from: The Diet (Hardcover)
What is so good about The Diet is that it relates to a person, to the inner person, the very real human element that is the core of each of us. The book shows that while dieting is important, just as important is how we view ourselves in the whole scheme of things. I would definitely recommend this book. The Diet Book is an extraordinary tale of a woman who triumphs over her battle with food & discovers the jewels within herself. 5.0 out of 5 stars An Inspiring Story...I Recommend The Diet, May 8, 2006
This review is from: The Diet (Hardcover)
The Diet by Edita Kaye is an inspiring story of one woman's struggle with her self and her weight. She goes into a dark and difficult life experience that is much bigger than weight gain and finally emerges, through faith, perserverance and a miracle as a new woman. I recommend The Diet to everyone who wants to find hope in her journey to weight loss. God bless Cate and God bless Edita.
