This review is from: The Dieter's Calorie Counter (Paperback)
This book gathers together calorie counts from food packaging and goverment sources. This is of limited value since the calorie count is listed on all packaged food you buy these days. This is no listing of the fat content, which many people are watching.
The part that really disapointed me was the lack of information on fresh foods. So it is difficult to figure out what food you prepare at home or eat at your local non-franchise dinner might be costing you in calories.
I know it would be impossible to know exactly how many calories are in the food at my local eatery but it would be nice to have enough information to make a wise and informed choice.
There is a lot of information on calorie counter from national chain eateries, but this was of limited use to me.
I am looking for a different source of information.
