Book Description

When Madison Parker stepped off a plane into England, she had only three things in mind; relaxing, spending time with her best friends and forgetting the wreck she called a love life. As her holiday unfolds, however, she finds that not everything is going how she had planned. For instance, she never expected she's have to help one friend fall in love. Nor did she ever think she would have to fight off Spanish models. And she most definitely never expected to have to know what in the hell the difference was between soccer and football.

1.0 out of 5 stars One major mistake in this story! August 20, 2012
Format:Kindle Edition
I was enjoying most of this book, apart from so many spelling mistakes! But when I got to the part about the unpaid hospital bill I lost interest. Mainly because it just wouldn't have happened! The UK has the National Health Service which is free, that includes hospital stays and procedures. Never would a nurse or anybody else tell the family they had unpaid bills because the patient had no insurance. The author made the mistake of putting huge medical bills in there which would happen in the USA but not in London or anywhere else in the UK.

3.0 out of 5 stars Long-winded youthful romance fantasy April 19, 2012
Format:Kindle Edition|Amazon Verified Purchase
I've recently read some amazing romance stories so unfortunately this doesn't quite add up. None of the main characters were fully described so I had a tough time truly imagining the storyline. I couldn't close my eyes and visualize what was taking place, which is pretty important for me as a reader.

Getting past that part, the author constantly had the main character biting her bottom lip. After the 100th use of that phrase it became comical, not sexy. I found myself skimming pages for sheer lack of boredom with the blathering dialogue between the main character and her friends, as well as her own inner thoughts.

Why 3 stars if it sucked so bad? Well, it didn't suck. Although this story is a complete fantasy (no superstar player would confess his love for a girl he'd never even kissed or held a 10 minute conversation with), there were some really cute parts that kept me reading along.

The last half of the book is the best since that is where a more adult relationship takes place. I did enjoy the romance (once it finally got started) but I quite possibly enjoyed the neuroticism of our main American character. The fact that she was flawed, insecure, curious, but a little bitchy was very interesting.

If you are on a LONG LONG flight then this would be a great book to pick up. It drags on, and you'll skim some of the crap parts, but in the end you will be happy you read it.

5.0 out of 5 stars Will read again!! January 31, 2012
Format:Paperback
This self-published book was a great read. The characters were engaging and funny, you can see the bond between the friends and you could even imagine the scenes unfolding in your head. I will definitely grab book 2 when it comes out. I enjoyed this book so much!!!
