Difference in platinum and silver edition Anybody know the difference in the two editions? The platinum is due out 10/1/12, but specs shown are identical to the silver. Amazon couldn't tell me the difference. Said to ask the manufacturer. Huh? Blue's site doesn't seem to welcome questions and they don't show anything about a new platinum version.

UPDATE. Have been following this. Was to come out on 10/1/12. Checked Amazon that date. Said would be available soon. Checked again today, 10/2/12. Now it says usually ships in 2 to 5 months. I'm seriously tired of the games on this product, with Amazon, and with Blue. Still no clue whether this is even a real product as it is showing up under the details, reviews, and specs of the silver edition. I'll just go elsewhere to find a vendor and a different microphone. I have nothing but bad vibes about this entire thing.

According to Blue Microphone's facebook page, nothing but color. According to a guy on Amazon, the Platinum has an XLR input.

The Platinum edition is for real. I just bought one through Amazon in mid-December and I am very pleased with it. I use it for voiceovers. Hope this helps to clear up the issue.

Thanks for posting this question. I actually had the same question. It appears as the price on the Platinum will be cheaper than the Silver edition. I just bought my Silver edition Yeti last Sunday and am incredible pleased with it! Good luck!
