This review is from: Differences: The Bible and the Koran (Kindle Edition)
This book is completely biased. It speaks on all the negative aspects of the Koran and only the good aspects in the Bible. If I am to read a book to learn about the two religions side by side I need an unbiased author and not someone whose main goal it seems from this book is to completely make the whole Islamic religion look bad. I am very disappointed and regret purchasing this book for my Kindle.

Allah is not Yahweh,
This review is from: Differences: The Bible and the Koran (Paperback)
This is a book one should have as a reference for side by side comparison of the Scriptures versus the Qur'an. While the author is clearly for the Bible and not the Koran, it is important to see why. We are warned, there is only One El and His Name is Yahweh, Isaiah 42:8. He is our Heavenly Father. Yahweh is His Memorial Name unto all generations, Exodus 3:15; Psalms 135:13; Hosea 12:5. It's important to know that Yahweh's ways are different than Allah's ways. It should also be noted, that, as much as those who promote the Qur'an as being accurate and infallible, the surahs (chapters) do not always agree. Some other interesting info: "Muhammad first stated that Allah appeared to him in the form of a man. Later Muhammad said that he was called by the Holy Spirit. Still later he said that the angels (plural) appeared to him and said Allah had called him to be a prophet. Last of all, he said that the angel Gabriel appeared to him and revealed Koran to him. The Koran similarly lumps peoples, places and practices separated by thousands of miles all together at the same time. For example...It has Haman, a Persian official mentioned in the biblical book of Esther, working for the pharaoh in Egypt at the time of the Exodus, when that event took place a thousand years earlier. It claims that Alexander the Great was a Muslim who lived to a ripe old age, when Alexander was a Greek idolater who died in his early 30s. These are only a few of the many conflicts not only between the Koran and the Bible, but between the Koran and historical fact." - Islam vs. The West, Why the Clash of Civilizations? The Good News magazine (Jan-Feb 2012), pages 4-5.

Biased: not what it claims to be!,

This review is from: Differences: The Bible and the Koran (Paperback)
I couldn't believe the words in the "editorial review" above! As A politically conservative Christian I say this book is NOT an unbiased examination of the similarities and differences in the Holy Bible and the Qur'an. First, there is a photo of Usama bin Laden on the cover; how does that shade the views about Islam in this book? Second, Muhammed is branded a terrorist instead of as a warrior; there is a difference between war and terrorism! Third, the book uses the old word "Koran" instead of the newer, more respectful "Qur'an." This book looks to be only for Fundamentalist "Christians" who want justification to believe untruths and half-truths about Islam. A better book, if you would read it with an open mind is "Islam Denounces Terrorism" by Harun Yahya. That book shows you thjat what is goig on in the world with terrorists who claim to be following Islam is based on politics, not on faith in Allah and adherance to the Qur'an. |
