i must say, i usually don't buy a book online without reading the first pages first ( this book didn't have that ) but i took a chance on it anyway.. and i was not disappointed one bit, it started out as a typical love story but then out of nowhere everything started to unfold. Wow, is all i have to say.. what happened in this book could just be the relationship that you are in right now..

This book is a story about true growing pains and the good, bad and UGLY of love. I was surprised to see that this was Kamryn Donavan's first novel, because I enjoyed the writing and emotion her storytelling evoked. In this book Monica fights against the idea of falling in love and giving herself completely to a man. Marshawn changes her mind, but this is no "and they lived happily ever after" fairytale. The couple has to deal with significant trials and challenges to their relationship. Will they withstand them? You will have to read the book to find out, but along the way you will find out that for many individuals, there is NOTHING they won't do for love. Wonderful first effort!

Kept me reading,

I thought the book was pretty good. It definitely had me on a roller coaster with all the ups and downs of relationships of real life. The writer has a way of keeping you reading and wanting more. And in regards to the first comment placed, this is Kamryn's second book. Her first book was "Getting Lucky" that released last year and that one was a good read as well.

I really enjoyed this story. The characters were well developed, storytelling on point. Author brought characters and realistic obstacles and issues faced in relationships to life. I felt each emotion of the main character, Monica. Po'Thang. This story was a page-turner and I stayed up all night to finish. I will definitely be checking for this author! Overall rating: 10 stars.

okay..i have never wrote a review on a book before, and i read lots of books (at least one a day, and that's a slow week)...this book was so good. usually romance books are so predictable, but there was nothing at all predictable about this book.it was so much drama, i couldn't put it down.i spent most of the time reading the book with my mouth wide open, screaming in my head, "no that did not just happen".this is a must read book, there is not a dull moment in the book. i came across it by accident and i am so glad i did.this book will definitely go into my "will read again in the future" pile.

A Pleasant Surprise,
By
This review is from: Different is All the Same (Urban Soul) (Mass Market Paperback)
I happened to see this book while searching for another book, and after some deep thinking I purchased it. To my surprise it was a real page turner, and really a pleasant surprise. I really struggled with my emotions as I became engulfed in the lives of each character especially Monica. I highly recommend it to anyone that is willing to take a risk like I did as far as reading from a new author.
