4.0 out of 5 stars physicsfan on differential equations
I found the focus of this book and its ability to teach just the part of Mathematica necessary to solve Differential Equations to be the best available. Its easy to use and gets you doing productive work quickly.

2.0 out of 5 stars For the price there is better, much better
This book is a course supplement for a textbook, and it does do a good job for the Mathematica novice. However, for the price you can do just as good with the Mathematica Navigator or even the online tutorials.

There is a book by Clay Ross which is an actual textbook which uses Mathematica, and it does a great job of teaching the subject matter and mathematica.
