My 5 and 3 yr. old absolutely loved this excavation. It was very rewarding, because they would not have to dig too long to find a bone or mini dinosaur.

My daughter wanted a "dinosaur kit" for her Christmas Eve birthday - and she loves the long necked varieties like brachiosaurus. Most dinosaur kits have only T-Rex to assemble. Then I found "I Dig Dinosaurs Dino Dig Play Day" which includes a bunch of small plastic dinosaurs as well as bones to assemble stegosaurus and brachiosaurus.

Yesterday, my daughters, ages 7 and 9, donned the included safety glasses and set to work in the front yard with their "dinostone". Two of their friends joined (ages 6 and 9) and they chiseled and brushed for 3 hours!! They made plans to meet again today to work more on unearthing more bones.

This toy is great! The dinostone is the perfect material for containing the objects - it doesn't crumble easily, yet it breaks away as the kids chisel and brush. The included dinosaurs are plentiful and easy to share with many friends; the included bones are good quality, and the ones they've found so far snap together easily.

The kids didn't tire of this activity and the included field guide gives added enjoyment for identifying the little plastic dinosaurs. Great for girls - even though the packaging only showed pictures of boys - annoying!

I work in a preschool and have a class of 20 5yr old students. We were doing a 2 week theme on dinosaurs and as part of the theme we used this product. My entire class of 20 children were glued to this project for two days! They had such excitement when they would discover a bone or toy dinosaur! They loved trying to get them out and helping their friends to dig their finds out, they also loved trying to guess what dinosaur they found as they came upon the first peeks of the dinosaur. I would use this again in a heart beat and can only hope that I am lucky enough next year to have it again in my classroom!
