Old but Good,

Other reviews have focused on the game dynamics, I want to focus on the aesthetics of the game. This is a classic game, and as such it does not exactly compare well with state of the art games (in terms of graphics, anyway). However, the storyline is wonderful, and the scenery is very well drawn. What really stands out in my mind after all these years is the music. The music is a mix of classical, new age, and space. For instance, I'm pretty certian I heard Einojuhani Rautavaara's Cantus Arcticus in here. It is a game that takes patience to get through; lot's of thought involved. So if you want a relaxing yet challenging game, with a great ending, then this is a game for you. If you are looking for fast action then look elsewhere.

the book is quite good and i recomend that you read it before you get the game as you will understand the games plot much better. the game controls are weak at best and the instructions are basic to say the least. i have the xp version, and the graphics are quite good if you remember how old this game really is. but the puzzles are not very straight forward and can be frustrating. but on the "hole" (the dig get it) it followes the book quite well. if you like the book you should like the game.
