Firstly I apologise for the title of the review, I don't know what came over me.
I bought this album on recommendation so I didn't know what to expect. I was very pleasantly surprised. What you get from this Swedish duo, is fabulous sunny pop, wry humour and a bucket load of instantly catchy melodies. There really is not a duff track on the album. I guess you'd have to place this in the 'indie ghetto' but I wish so-called main stream pop could be this effortlessly enjoyable. Go on take a gamble, like I did. If you like your music with some rough edges left unpolished, and full of joyous melodic sunshine, I don't think you'll regret it.

I found this group while spending a restless day about the house listening to music on Pandora. The first song I heard was "Rent a Wreck". I closed Pandora and found the group on Youtube. I checked out other songs as well. My favourite that I found was "Seems to be on My Mind". I would've bought the album on the strength of that song alone... but this isn't an article about how I found SKWBN.
I got the album about two weeks ago and it hasn't left my car CD player for a minute. There's a lot of really strong songs hear. I think they use background voices well. The fourth track, whose name I don't recall, reads like the story of my life and makes me nostalgic for a neighborhood in New Orleans. Another song, "Peter's Dream" is dissonant, and has a surf-ish guitar. It sounds to me like SKWBN were having fun making this album; experimenting with insturments and sound... Its an airy album that has really grown on me. I don't think its perfect, 'cos there are a couple songs I tend to skip, namely, the first track. Still, I'm going to check out more stuff from this group in the future. I'd recommend this album to people who like to take chances trying new music. But, if you're looking at this page now, then you've probably sampled SKWBN.
