5.0 out of 5 stars "excellent album!!!, November 13, 2005

This review is from: Dig Trio (Audio CD)
The Dig Trio are an extemely talented band and their album is full of the musicality, excitement, and deep sensitivity you would expect from such advanced players. The compositions are all strong, and each distinct; making this album a very pleasurable listen. Each musician contributes their own distinct musical voice, but the result is remarkably cohesive. Gustavo Assis Brasil's guitarwork is breathtaking, displaying great virtuosity and skill, yet always melodic. Most importantly, he posseses his own sound and style; recognizabe from the moment he starts to play. Mauricio Zottarelli is an amazing drummer; incredibly versatile and acomplished in many styles, and always using his masterful technique to bring the music to new levels. David Pinto(since replaced by Michael Farquharson) bass playing helps the often, challenging music seem effortless and natural. He solos on several songs, displaying excellent technique and ideas. This album is a must for fans of beautiful compositions and stellar playing.

5.0 out of 5 stars Dig this, December 2, 2005
This review is from: Dig Trio (Audio CD)
'Dig Trio' sounds fresh amongst several guitar trio bands that are around today. Gustavo's beautiful sound and lovely use of different textures complemented by an excellent rhythm section of David Pinto and Maruicio Zottarelli keep the music organic, fluid and interesting. Like all good trios should, 'Dig trio' exlores space, color, versatility, spontaneity and group interplay with a touch of unpredictability. Keep up the good work!
