This review is from: Dig a Tunnel (Hardcover)
This book captivates the minds of young readers and makes them feel like they're "digging a tunnel". I was astonished this book didn't get an award. My child couldn't put the book down. I went to the book store and bought it for my friends' kids. Dig a Tunnel is a healthy, want-to-learn book for children. I was surprised at the illustrations of this book. It was neat for my children to look at. I give it 5 stars!!!!!

complex topic made simple, March 13, 2007
This review is from: Dig a Tunnel (Hardcover)
This is a great book for young children interested in how things work. Using very simple sentences, the authors describe ways tunnels have been used in the past and are still used today. They also offer some fun facts that will spark preschoolers' imagination. My son was mesmerized by the illustration and description of tunnel boring machines (called by the nickname "the mole" in the book).

Not a huge favorite - not much of a story in this one, February 9, 2005
This review is from: Dig a Tunnel (Hardcover)
This book basically just shows how different bugs, etc. and finally, trucks dig tunnels. A lot of the information is repeated from the Tonka series so if you have those, I wouldn't recommend this one. I have a digger in my house and he just didn't think this one was too great. It was neat seeing the different animals and bugs digging, but really, there wasn't much of a storyline to this one and thus it was pretty noninteresting to my little one. We took this one back.
