I absolutely love this song. I believe it's about depression. When when his depression consumes him and he feels trapped, she loves him enough to help dig him out and find the real person that became buried within it.

This album is great for guys,23-49,that love soft rock,with a lot of imagery;I only like the song Dig - because it makes me think about a couple of sexy soap chicks.
