First, let me start this by countering the reviewer that claimed this is somehow a toxic or unsafe product.

This product does include Glucomannan. Glucomannan is just a natural soluble fiber from a plant. It is not absorbed into the body. It passes out the rectum along with the wastes. It is never absorbed into the body, so it's nearly impossible for it to cause any major illness. Many other fiber supplements use a cheaper source of fiber, but Glucomannan is superior to these in the way it works. However, Glucomannan works simularly. That is, it absorbs water, creating bulk in our digestive system which is easier for your colon to push out of the body. That's fiber basics. There's no magic or mystery about it.

The only way one can get into trouble is by not drinking enough water. This is true of any type of fiber. It clearly says to take 8oz of water or more with this product. I do a whole bottle of water with my two tablets per day, and this product makes me very happy.

Now, for my personal story.

I am a long time sufferer of Irritable Bowel Syndrome (IBS) With Constipation, IBS-C. I've been to many doctors, including 5 specialists. I've gone through every test and procedure including two colonoscopies. They couldn't "see" anything wrong, so they came to the conclusion that I just had IBS-C. I've tried every prescription laxative out there. Nothing made it comfortable to go. Some made out of control bathroom habits and others seemed to do nothing or make it worse. This is the only product that worked for me. On some days I start to slow down a bit, so I have two doses per day. Then, I'm back to normal. It's so great to have regular visits to the throne without discomfort. I've been buying these at a local store, but now I'm getting on the Amazon autoship program since it's cheaper.

Unlike many laxatives, this product is non habit forming. You can't be addicted to it. Many laxatives start to stop working when you take often, resulting in higher and higher doses to become effective. This product is not a stimulant. It just uses natural fiber, so your body cannot become used to it.

I first tried Digestive Advantage Irritable Bowel and loved it! But, when I ran out, I tried the constipation type. I've had difficulties with constipation due to dieting and medication and have tried almost everything on the market and prescribed. Nothing worked! Not even an overdose of laxatives but, this product has made me regular. At least more regular than I have ever been. WOW, after trying just about everything natural and unnatural, I've finally found something that works!

I have been taking this product for over three years and have never had any ill effects on the contrary, it is a product that regulates digestion and benefits overall health. I don't take it exclusively for major constipation but to aid a sluggish metabolism so that I am almost normal, usually. On the occasions I'm not which are predictable and rare, I use an additional aide which has become infrequent. I strongly recommend this product to anyone wanting a healthy alternative to stimulant laxatives and a more regular bowel movement. I take only one a day.

Digestive Advantage Constipation Capsules have helped me in my life-long battle with constipation. As a child, doctors said it was "normal" for someone to only have 1 bowel movement a week. However, I had 1 a month! As an adult, I now have a chronic illness requiring large amounts of narcotics to battle the pain, making my situation even more difficult. This product works! For the first time in my life, I am able to "function properly." What a HUGE blessing that is!

I used this product for 3 1/2 months before realizing that one of its ingredients, Konjac Glucomannan, was making me ill. Wasted many, many hours of my life and spent thousands of dollars on medical bills trying to determine what was causing the illness. Stopped taking the product and the symptoms disappeared.

"Glucomannan. Made from the root of Amorphophallus Konjac, glucomannan is said to contribute to weight loss by delaying the absorption of glucose from the intestines. Small limited studies have shown glucomannan to be effective in decreasing body weight. This effect is believed to be due to a "feeling of fullness" which may be due to the swelling of the glucomannan in the gut once it has been exposed to liquids. However, esophageal obstruction has been reported in several people taking glucomannan. Glucomannan and glucomannan-containing products have been banned in several countries due to the high incidence of gastrointestinal obstruction. Glucomannan should not be used by people with a previous history of gastrointestinal obstruction, and caution should be used in diabetics."

I believe, of all the acidophelus products I've used, that Digestive Advantage is the best. You may have to take 2, but make sure you drink enough water or you'll have trouble. Yes, I have to take this and other products to produce anything in the throne room, but without Digestive Advantage, I produce deer pellets only occasionally.

Tired of the pain discomfort and bloating I went to the Gastroenterologist who subscribed an expensive drug called Amitiza which when my insurance refused to pay for anymore I was panicked on how I would deal with this problem. So I found Digestive Advantage Daily Constipation Formula WOW it works better than the Amitiza. I can go through the day without the misery of constipation from irritable bowel syndrome. I can also travel without being constipated the entire time I am away from home.

These pills take several days to take effect, but they really do help regulate the system. The pills are huge, but the great thing is that you can break them apart and pour the powder into any liquid and not taste it. I put them into smoothies, or cocoa, or any fruit juice. It works for me. I would recommend that you give this product a try.

I have irritable bowel syndrome, allergies, lactose intolerance and had trouble for years with constipation. It had gotten so bad that I ate almost a whole box of fiber one granola bars EVERY DAY trying to keep my bowels working in addition to psyllium husk and fiber breakfast cereal! It was awful! I take digestive advantage lactose and irritable bowel pills, so added the daily constipation formula. I take it at the same time daily and have good bowel movements now daily, sometimes a couple of times a day. After antibiotic treatment I double up on the digestive advantage pills (I make sure to take them 6 hours separate from medication) to get my flora working again. I ran out of the pills and they didn't carry them at the local drugstore and THEN I discovered how well they worked as I got constipated again! I now order extra boxes from Amazon and am on the auto ship plan which gives me a huge discount. I THANK GOD for this formula!

Product worked great for the first couple of weeks then it just stopped working for me. I even tried taking three pills a day but it didn't help.
