3.0 out of 5 stars Diggers has a mistake!, July 25, 2000
A Kid's Review
This review is from: Diggers (Machines at Work; Big Machines) (Library Binding)
This is a really cool book, but it has a mistake! It says diggers have crawler tracks, then on the next page, it shows a different kind of a machine- not even a digger. I wanted to write to the author, but we can't find that address. But besides that, it is a great book.

3.0 out of 5 stars Publisher uses inferior materials now, June 29, 2005
By
This review is from: Diggers (Machines at Work; Big Machines) (Library Binding)
My son came across this book when a friendly librarian recommended it. He loved it so much. I was very impressed at the high quality paper and binding. So I ordered it after we returned the borrowed book to the library.

When I received the book I purchased, the quality was not the same; it was inferior in every respect. The cover was textured and dull whereas the book we had borrowed from the library was glossy and bright. The pages were thinner in the book we purchased, and the photographs were of noticeably poorer quality.

This is a disappointment, because I was hoping to save the book until my boy was old and married, God willing.

I called the publisher because I was so disappointed. The publisher called me back, and admitted that they changed book binders a few years ago.

So, warning: the quality of the books you receive now will be inferior. I do not believe this book is worth the money now that they have switched to a presumably less expensive book binder that uses inferior materials.
