This review is from: Black Max Football (Toy)
This ball brings back memories of endless California summers in the 1990's. My pals and I had 3 of these between us, first just for chucking around on the beach but eventually all over the Golden State. The ball is a bit plumper than your typical nerf and smaller than an official football. The dimples makes it easy to grip. The center ring makes it possible for even the most uncoordinated goof to toss something approaching a spiral. Its somewhat surprising how far it will fly. The ball's weight makes it great for cutting through the breeze on the beach. Its foam construction makes it easy to squeeze out the sea when an errant pass ends up in the surf. But since it is constructed of foam that means that they will start showing some wear after a while. A dog got one of the three. Another just saw too much asphalt. The third survives in a dufflebag with my surfing gear but yet another reminder of a carefree time long passed. I searched the net for replacements some years ago to no avail. So to find what was called the "Black Bomb" in the '90s reincarnated in the new millennium as the "Black Max" gives me hope for future generations.

This is a good football - I got it for my nephew who is nine. It is a little counter-intuitive, meaning that there comes a point where the force of which you throw it does not make it go further and even can make it go less distance. It seems to be designed to make a smooth strong throw travel far and with a good spiral - if you over throw it I have found it has a negative effect. Great for a nine year old who can't really overthrow it - to those adults out there - pull a little off your "Long Bombs" as my nephew calls them, and it will do the work for you.

I was blessed with 3 daughters. (google Feminization Assimilation video to see my plight) Anyway - 3 daughters. I am not a jock but not a chair bound geek either. We were at a neighbor's (boy) birthday party and we started to play with one of those small plastic footballs. The kids seemed to like it, so I looked online saw this and based on reviews decided to try it.
My 11 year old daughter has gotten very good a throwing spirals, the 8 year old is working on it and the 6 year old is not afraid to face this ball down - literally with her face. The kids actually bug me towards evening to go out in the yard and throw the ball around. It is a nice break from all the PPC plastic pink crap. I would recommend this ball to anyone looking for a good 'Nerf' like ball, easy to throw and about 6/10 to 7/10 the size of a normal football.
