must be used on a firm surface, not carpet. But it's a lot of fun, even for the grownups in the house! I was actually looking for more of a balancing toy, but this one requires memory and attention more than balance. It reminds me of Simon, except it uses your legs instead of hands.

We gave this to our 4 year old son just last night for Hanukkah. Let see he played with it for 3 hours before bed, put it in his room while he slept and brought it downstairs and played with it before school. The different levels are great, he will grow from the freestyle to the instructional over some time. The toy seems quite durable, made out of one solid piece of wood, with colorfully designed plastic corners. The corners play beats from the instrument on the corresponding corner when hitting the ground. And depending how long you balance on the corner is how many beats or a song from that instrument you can create. I highly recommend this toy. And I believe my son did too, when he told me "Mommy I love this toy".

My son really has fun with this toy. It's a safe way for him to enjoy feeling off-balance and it gives him a mental work-out as well. More daring kids may prefer a more challenging wobbler or balance board but this is a good place to start for beginners.

This thing only works when used on a hard surface, and you have to hit the sensors against the ground pretty hard to register the input. Harder than my child could make the sensors hit the ground reliably in fact. In order to make it any fun for her, I had to glue plastic bumpers to the sensors on the bottom so that the sensor gets pushed further into the board with less force required, meaning that even a gentle tap on the sensor registers the hit, and I had to put it on a hard board on the carpet. Using it on our hardwoods actually DAMAGED the floors. So what you've got here is a toy that's supposed to teach kids to balance, but requires that they SLAM the sensors down, and requires that they learn on a hard surface like concrete, unless you do what I've done to it. It's a good idea for a toy, but a poor implimentation.

I purchased this toy for my nine year old who has gross motor issues and low muscle tone. It is everything that I had hoped for . . . it is fun, requires listening, following direction, and motor planning and control. The voice takes a little time to get used to . . . but what electronic voice doesn't. It also holds more weight than it says . . . because all the adults have tried it too . . . and it is fun. I am sending one to my son's occupational therapist for use at his school.

My daughter is taking physical and occupational therapy in order to strengthen various muscles and improve her balance and coordination. I picked her up from a playdate one day and found her and her friend playing with this wobbleboard. She was having a blast! I immediately went home and ordered one for her. Her coordination on the wobbleboard improves every time she plays with it and it's really helping her therapy. Besides, her friends love it, too, so it has been a great toy for our whole neighborhood.

Bought this as a Christmas gift for our 7-year-old son and he seems to enjoy playing it a lot. He doesn't have good balance, so this toy will hopefully help him to develop better balance and coordination. It's more motivating than a plain balance board as there are games and challenges. My 12-year-old daughter also likes to use it. Quality seems good. The only downfall is that it has a weight limit of 100 pounds, so we adults can't try it. It looks like a lot of fun and much better than video games or other toys that allow kids to be couch potatoes!

We gave this to our two six year olds for Christmas. They play with it a fair amount, but tend to get a bit frustrated. The audio voice could be a lot clearer, as it is sometimes hard to understand. Also, sometimes they perform the designated task, but are told it was wrong! Hence the frustration. It is well made however, and if used in the other modes where they can 'play' the instruments, it might be more fun, although our boys don't use it much in that mode. White Rock, BC, Canada

I had purchased this for my 6yr old son to improve 'trunk' balance. Then my 8yr. old takes it over. He could do it with his eyes closed. The 6yr. old really figured out just to sit on the ground and manipulate it. hmm... One section needed a harder bump to trigger that it was selected, causing the kids to get upset as they had actually done the motion, it just didn't take consistently. It's like a stand up Simon game. Pretty cool.

I purchased several of these for Christmas gifts this year - including one for my own home. My children are 5 and 2 and they both love to play with it. The 5 year old is mastering balance as he tips towards each color and the 2 year old likes to try to balance and guess the colors that it shouts out. When we have friends over to play, this is one of those "hey - let me try it" toys. The kids stand in a circle and watch each other and take turns to see who can stay on the longest. |
