Brother has become one of the most exciting performers that I have ever seen. Their live chemistry can be felt in every studio venture that they've produced to date. The symbolic tapestry of each piece is combined with splendid harmonies, haunting overtures of bagpipes and the didgeridoo that will entrance and delight music fans of all ages. Kinetic energies literally explodes from their discs. My ears have never tasted anything so good. 5 plus stars.

I've had this CD for four years, and still have yet to get tired of it! Somewhat more of a rocker, the tunes grab hold of you and let you experience the chemistry of a live Brother show. Some of the best loved live songs were finally recorded on this album. One Heart, One Soul and Blackest of Blue are songs not to be forgotten. Strongly suggested!

I first heard this band at IBS New York. As soon as I got home I got the CD. There is no way to describe this music. At first sight it's like ewww bagpipes, then it's like whoa bagpipes rock!!! And may I also add, you have never seen guys that look that good in kilts. Buy the CD because it's sad that this won't make it onto radio you wont be sorry.

I have only recently (in the past year) discovered the Richardsons. After listening to a few downloaded songs, I was fortunate enough to see them live. I immediately became a devotee and acquired all of their albums. (Thanks, Amazon!)
Of all of the Brother recordings, The Digging Bone is my most favorite. There is plenty of bagpipes and the didgeridoo. There is also plenty of good rock and roll. What I really appreciate with this particular album, is the imagery painted by the lyrics. You can almost "see" these tunes. "The Blackest of Blue" leads it off and hooked me from the first chord. Shadow Man and Rainmaker are Aussie storytelling at its best!! If you're only going to buy one Brother album (say it ain't so!)this is the one to get IMHO.

I first saw this band at a Scottish festival in Arlington, TX and I was amazed. They skillfully blend traditional Celtic music with the rock 'n roll of today. I only wish I could obtain their other CD's. I couldn't believe it when I heard that Brother broke up, but I am thankful that I was able to get at least one CD. This is a must-buy and I highly recommend it!

This record is one of my favorites, I discovered Brother at a local Scotish festival. But, I would not classify them into the Celtic genre. There are only hints of bagpipes at the start of a few of their songs, but the bagpipes blend beatifully with their style of rock. Their rock is medium, with some hints of heavy rock. The guitar and drum work is great, and the lead singer's voice is good. The lyrics are also very good. Almost all of the songs on this CD are good and will stay in your head for days afterwards.
