When we bought our home, there were two Stanley garage door openers installed. The openers worked fine, but the two Stanley remote controls were insanely aggravating. They would only work some of the time, the plastic case eventually cracked and the large gray button would depress and stick, which kept the opener running, up and down. Finally, they both broke completely.

I went on-line to replace them and the company offered to upgrade the Stanley replacement to a Digi-Code 5012 Remote Control for the same price as two Stanley remotes. They even threw in free shipping. When they arrived, it was obvious that the Digi-Code 5012 was a huge improvement over the standard Stanley control. As the picture shows, it is encased in a tough black plastic case with a smaller gray plastic button. Some assembly was required, which couldn't have been simpler to complete. Now all I do is just touch the button and presto! up goes the door, first time, every time. I've had these controls for over two years and they are just as reliable and look just as sharp as the first day they arrived.

It's such a pleasure when a product truly exceeds your expectations. The Digi-Code Remote Control 5012 is that kind of product.

Works perfectly, took about 1 minute to program (most of the time was just used getting a chair to see the code on my opener). Works great no problems at all. I have a very old Stanley opener, but it synched up fine.

The Digi-Code 5012 has worked very well for me. It's easy to use, and I didn't even have to enter in a code to start using it! (This may not be the case for everyone.) I was a little concerned about that at first, thinking that perhaps it might open all of my neighbors' garage doors as well, but I haven't had any problems.

I have been using this product for over a year now, on a regular basis, and haven't had to change the battery yet. When it comes time to replace the battery, be advised that the case is somewhat tricky to open. It's not too bad, but a coin and a little bit of twisting are needed to do so. If accidentally dropped on a hard surface, however, the whole unit will easily fly apart. Fortunately, I didn't have any difficulty snapping mine back together when it did come apart, and it still works just fine.

I have no complaints about the distance from which this remote opens my garage door. I understand that everyone's preference is different. However, the remote is able to open my garage door from at least the house next door, which fine for me! :)

We really love this little remote visor garage door opener. We live on Lake Superior in upper Michigan and weather can be pretty wild and wicked along the shoreline during the winter. So it was disappointing to say the least when the remote that came with the house (built in 1972) gave up the ghost as a spring blizzard approached. Not to be outdone by technology my husband went right to the computer and googled this little miracle invention and who should pop up but Amazon.Com. Within a week we had a new device in our car - easy to program - and just in time for black fly season fast approaching. And everybody knows in this neck of the woods that if you can stay in the car until you get into the garage you save yourself lots of grief.

Our garage door opener transmitter broke and I was searching everywhere for a new one. I came across the Digi-Code on Amazon.com. The price was right and I had ordered from Amazon.com before so I felt fairly certain it would be okay. The Digi-Code arrived sooner than expected and was very easy to set. Works great. Great garage door opener. So easy to program. Much easier to use then my old one that came with my garage door. Was very reasonable priced. Would definitely refer to a friend.

This opener came ready to use (battery was included)and is alot better quality than my old garage door opener. Also shipped fast and was packaged well. I love amazon.com and have been happy with all my purchases from them. I would recommend this product.

The garage remotes (2) were delievered promptly as promised. After adjusting the settings, the remotes have worked fine.
P.S. Included in the price of the remotes were two 9 Volt batteries.
The only question I have is why was I charged two shipping charges, when the remotes came in one package.

works great, very universal, easy setup - just make sure it is compatible with your unit. There ARE a few different ones - but this one works with most.

Just bought a house that came with two garage door openers, but only one remote. The openers are OLD Stanley models, but still work. Figured I'd try this remote to see if I could get door 2 to open. Arrived very quickly, batteries included. Walked out to the garage, looked at the preset code, flipped the micro switches and clicked the button. Worked on the first try. Ordering another one for the other door as the remote is the original remote and has definately seen better days :)
