Product Description

From the Manufacturer

It’s been a decade since the Whammy was introduced and now it has a permanent place on every professional’s pedalboard. This is what has made the Whammy a legend. Hit after hit, performance after performance, the Whammy not only adds to your playing, it creates new sounds, feelings and textures.

The Whammy is simple – Take your guitar’s sound and pitch shift it using a special algorithm, then control that pitch with an expression pedal. So easy and so expressive that it takes your playing to a new world of quirky squeals, monster dive bombs lower than any whammy bar and bends that can only be found on other instruments. It’s no wonder why this single pedal is legendary.

Product Description

The DigiTech Whammy is the upgraded reincarnation of one of DigiTech's most popular pedals. It's been almost a decade since DigiTech introduced the revolutionary, original WH-1 Whammy pedal. It has become one of the most sought after, most expensive pedals on the auction and used markets. Y2K brings the return of the original Whammy with the same metal construction and rotary controls, the same presets, smooth pitch bending and harmony effects - everything . But it doesn't stop there. After perfectly recreating the original, DigiTech added MIDI control and a new Dive Bomb effect. Dive Bomb sounds like you bottomed out a Floyd Rose to the point where the strings slap against the frets and pickups. Power supply included. DigiTech Whammy Pedal Features Original Whammy performance Original Whammy presets New Dive Bomb effect Rugged new industrial chassis design LED indicated Display Preset selection MIDI In for remote control Wet-Dry outputs Power supply included Every feature of the original WH-1 has been included in the new Whammy; From the rotary preset selection knob, to the Ferrari red color; From the mechanical momentary switch, to the exact same interval selections. However, the new Whammy has added the versatility of MIDI control making this timeless effect flexible enough for any situation. The new Dive Bomb Preset gives the effect of a Floyd Rose whammy bar pushed all the way to the body of the guitar, and 16 LEDs provide a visual indication of your Preset selection even on dimly lit stages.

4.0 out of 5 stars A Awesome Pedal, December 19, 2004

This pedal kicks ass. You can turn your guitar into a Bass or a high pitched screaming meachine. The detune actually makes a great Chorus effect and sounds awesome on clean stuff. It can bend notes up to 2 Octaves higher (24 Frets). The harmony effects are cool but it is fixed so you can't do true scale harmonys. The design is pretty rugged and I havent had to reset mine yet. It's good for all styles. I'm into heavy metal and it fits my playing really well. If your in a rut try this pedal out.

5.0 out of 5 stars Classic Pedal, Must Have for guitarists, May 19, 2007
This review is from: DigiTech Whammy Pedal Re-issue with MIDI Control (Electronics)
I rarely write reviews on anything and the only reason why I am writing this is because I feel the need to give recognition for all this pedal has brought me. I would refuse to play guitar without it, its that simple. you can pretty much create any sound you want and i would consider the whammy pedal just as important as my guitar. its easy to use, and extremely worth it, dont second guess here, put up the money trust me its worth it. Ive been playing with it for over a year now and even if all I had was $200 to my name, id still spend every last penny on this pedal.

4.0 out of 5 stars the red whammy......, August 26, 2004
This review is from: DigiTech Whammy Pedal Re-issue with MIDI Control (Electronics)
I have no complaints whatsoever about this pedal except that I have to recalibrate it every few weeks so that when i turn the pedal on, the starting note is the exact note I'm playing (and likewise for the 1(or 2)-octave bend, up or down. I dont use the harmonizing features of the pedal, i have no use for them, but they arent too bad, also.
