Not a Pokemon copy,
A Kid's Review
This review is from: Digimon Digital Monsters, Volume 3 - Beware the Black Gears [VHS] (VHS Tape)
I'd like to say that Digimon came before Pokemon in Japan, but Pokemon was brought across the sea first, so everyone seems to think Pokemon is the original on this side of the planet and in Japan, because nobody cared about Digimon much there either. I think that this is much better than Pokemon. The characters, all seven of them, are better thought out, the plot is better (not a continuous, never-ending journey, but a real save the world plot) and the Digimon can go to Champion and back and can actually TALK not that "Pika Pika" stuff. I respect (sorta) all your opinions, whether we agree or not.

The Digimon Adventure Continues,
By Liz "LoftyKitten" (Springfield, MO USA) - See all my reviews
This review is from: Digimon: Beware Black Gears [VHS] (VHS Tape)
This installment is the third in the Digimon series, and picks up right where the second video left off.At this point the background and setting has been set, and the characters have had time to establish themselves, so the plot gets a chance to become more complex. The pace picks up, there's more room for adventure, and you really get sucked into the Digital World. The dialogue is improving and the characters become more natural. Digimon will someday be hailed as a classic, as it has all of the elements that make for a lasting show. It's a lot of fun, and stays interesting, so kids and parents can have a great time watching it together.

Pshaw.,
This review is from: Digimon Digital Monsters, Volume 3 - Beware the Black Gears [VHS] (VHS Tape)
Pokemon and Digimon are a close match, but I've always liked Digimon better. Digimon's characters are just more interesting: Ash and Tai are both stupid, but Tai is less so. Misty and Sora are both the 'group big sister,' but Misty whines more. The monsters are better, too- and they can talk, instead of repeat their own name like idiots. All in all, Digimon may have been less popular, but is, in my opinion, better by far.

...Then this is the video for you. The most compelling evidence is in "Sub-zero ice punch," an episode infamous for its scene with Taichi and Yamato (what else?) fighting. It turns out to be very sweet (but I won't give anything away to those of you who haven't seen the show yet). A must have for Taito fans and fans in general. A great group of episodes

My son likes VHS movies and he likes Digimon, so this was a no-brainer. My son has watched the movie many times since it was purchased.

This video is so cool with all your fave Digimon and the 7 Digi-Destined, and one of my fave episodes with ikakumon. This is my fave video. If you have a Digimon lover in your household, this is the mega gift for him or her. I highly suggest this video!

Digimon is so overated. Its a pokemon clone. Theres no difference, in characters, monsters or anything, I'm glad that it wasn't very popular.
