5.0 out of 5 stars Just right for any Frontier fan, December 19, 2005

Sam (San Jose, CA USA) - See all my reviews
This review is from: Digimon Frontier Best Hit Parade (Audio CD)
This soundtrack is definitely worth the amount of money it costs. It features opening, ending, and character image songs. Most of the songs feature enjoyable melodies that will definitely be stuck in your head for a long time. The meanings of the songs are rough translations, or what I could make sense of out of the lyrics.

1. FIRE!! - Opening theme for Digimon Frontier. In my opinion, one of the BEST opening themes in the entire Digimon Series and one of the BEST songs sung by Wada Kouji. VERY VERY enjoyable and upbeat. I talks about running into a new frontier.

2. Salamander (Takuya's Image Song) - Takuya's voice actor, Junko Takeuchi, definitely can sing, and she sings pretty good too! I think Takuya sings about how he's a leader, but at the same time he's not sure what to do, but he knows he can do great things.

3. Say, yes! (Tomoki's [Tommy's]Image Song) - Tomoki sounds so cute! THIS IS A CUTE SONG! I LOVE IT! Tomoki sings about how he will grow up, or something like that.

4. Oreta Tsubasa de ~With Broken Wings~ (Kouichi's [Koichi's] Image Song) - Depressing title, yet a fast tempo change in the middle of it. It's very good. Kouichi's voice actor sings VERY well. He talks about how he has broken wings, and is depressed, etc etc, and then goes on to say he'll show that he can fly with broken wings.

5. in the blue (Kouji's [Koji's] image song) - Pretty good. Kouji's voice actor can sing, but not that well, but still decent enough. The translation for the song was very confusing but I think it talks about regret. It's enjoyable, even though the beginning and end sound like bar music.

6. With the Will - Frontier Evolution Song! Bouncy, upbeat. VERY FUN. Talks about breathing life into the Legendary Warriors. Sung by Wada Kouji.

7. Spark!! (Junpei's [JP's] image song) - No offense, but I cringed during this song. I loved the music...it's just Junpei's voice actor can't sing. Talks about self motivation, wanting to go forward on a path...I think.

8. The Last Element - Hyper Spirit Evolution Song! Talks about "what do we fight for" and which spirits go to where, etc etc. FUN!

9. Innocent ~Mujaki na Mama de~ - Frontier 1st Ending Theme. Sung by Wada Kouji and definitely not one of his best songs. But it's still very enjoyable. Talk about seperation and "remaining innocent".

10. Kaze no Shizuku (Izumi's [Zoe's] Image Song) - Cute. Very cute. Sounds like those songs that chime out of jewelry boxes. Talk about being more honest to yourself.

11. an Endless Tale - Frontier 2nd Ending Theme. Duet by Wada Kouji and AiM. Very very pretty. It's basically a love song talking about being together and "the tale endlessly chooses you as the protagonist".

12. Get the Biggest Fire!! - This is my FAVORITE TRACK. Basically, it has Takuya and Kouji arguing about various things about Digimon, screwing around with the audio set, and driving (maybe) the director crazy. First, they sing "the Biggest Dreamer" off tune, then "FIRE!!" in tune (the only song they sing well together), and then they sing the "Get the Biggest Fire" song, or attempt to. First, Takuya scream sings, then Kouji tries and ends up singing off tune and off beat, and then they sing together. It ends with them arguing and the director yelling at them. This track makes me laugh every time I listen to it.

Whew. Hope this long review was helpful.

5.0 out of 5 stars Very, very nice., January 10, 2006
This review is from: Digimon Frontier Best Hit Parade (Audio CD)
Frontier's soundtrack is definitely great. Review of songs below:
1. Fire!!- Wada Kouji does a great job. In fact, it's my very first impression of him ever. And he is a very good singer, especially with many of his other songs.

2. Salamander- Takeuchi Junko's definitely a great voice actor. From Gomamon to Takuya, I must say, she's one of the best. Salamander's a very addicting song.

3. Say, yes!- The beginning's kind of strange, but I've grown accustomed to it. Definitely cute, but not so addicting. Bouncy, though.

4. Oreta Tsubasa de ~With Broken Wings~- Suzumura Ken'ichi, great voice. You'd expect a song with a title of 'With Broken Wings' to be depressing. I know I did, what with Kouichi's character being depressing, but it's hardly slow or depressing, quite the opposite. If you check out the lyrics (animelyrics [dot] com), you see he uses the analogy of a caged bird.

5. in the blue- Kamiya Hiroshi's got a distinctive voice. There are certain parts in the music that are definitely the best, but someone must have switched the twin's songs. It's got a slow pace, and the way Hiroshi says 'Regret' bugs me sometimes. But hey, he's japanese. He has to have an accent, yes?

6. With the Will- Wada Kouji, again! The beat is (again) addicting. The music seems...robotic, I suppose you could say. But it fits with the evolutions.

7. Spark!!- Junpei's voice actor-that's what bugs me. The music is great, perfectly fine! However, Junpei's voice doesn't seem to fit him. It's too scratchy, distracts from the music.

8. The Last Element- Miyazaki Ayumi. I like his voice. My first impression of him. It's the 'Hyper Spirit Evolution' theme, thus 'Hyper Spirit Evolution!' in the song.

9. Innocent ~Mujaki na Mama de~- I was really excited to get to this song after hearing Fire!!. Definitely not Wada Kouji's BEST song, but it has a very nice beat to it. It seems as if he has a cold at certain parts, I suppose you could say. Not his worst song, either.

10. Kaze no Shizuku- I am reminded of music box music. It's cute. Ishige Sawa has a very nice voice, but when it gets to the chorus, she sounds older than she should. Her voice wavers, and it seems kind of weird. Other than that, very nice.

11. an Endless Tale- Maeda Ai (AiM) and Wada Kouji. Slow, the background music is okay. I do like the lyrics, though.

12. Get the Biggest Fire!!- Now, it's quite annoying if you don't understand Japanese, here. Basically, there's Takuya, Kouji, and another guy. I believe they want a 'Digimon Frontier 02.' There's a mention about Ohta Michihiko, then they sing 'The Biggest Dreamer,' which is Digimon Tamers opening theme. They argue some more with the guy, then it moves on to the two singing 'Fire!!' They end it very nicely. Before all that, however, it seems Takuya and Kouji make a deal (I presume to make the poor guy's life miserable). Somewhere between 'The Biggest Dreamer' and 'Fire!!' I believe they mention Ohta Michihiko again and he replies. Then after Fire!! it goes off to the two singing. Takuya sings first, very off-tune. Kouji then follows, missing a few counts, sometimes going faster, sometimes not fast enough. And then, the terrible duo sing together. Very entertaining. Probably even more so if you can understand japanese. There are also about three or four censors, three from Takuya and one from a random guy who randomly shouts out at the beginning.

Overall, true Digimon insanity, good quality, worth every cent.

5.0 out of 5 stars Get a fire power!!, February 26, 2004
By A Customer
This review is from: Digimon Frontier Best Hit Parade (Audio CD)
This CD did cost a lot, but in my opinion, it was worth it. There are twelve songs, six being the Frontier characers' theme songs. I like them all a lot, although I have no clue what they're singing.

1. FIRE!! - It's a very upbeat song and a good opening to the CD.
2. (Japanese title), Takuya's Theme - A lot of electric guitar. It really got my attention when I first listened to it.
3. Say, yes!, Tomoki's Theme - A very cute song. Tomoki sounds so sweet and innocent.
4. (Japanese title), With Broken Wings, Kouichi's Theme - Just the title made me want to cry when I listened to it. I have no clue what he's singing, but I can imagine.
5. in the blue, Kouji's Theme - Jazz-y. His voice is a little . . . weird? I'm telling you, Kouichi and Kouji sound too mature for eleven-year-olds. But oh well.
6. With The Will - Upbeat, and I always seem to want to dance to it.
7. (Japanese title), Junpei's Theme - No offence to Junpei-fans, but he sounds like me when I have a cold. But the tune isn't bad at all.
8. The last element - Hyper spirit evolution? Another upbeat song. I like it, but the "hyper spirit evolution"? You'll have to listen to it if you want to understand. Maybe it would make more sense if I had the translation.
9. (Japanese title) - Good song. Bouncy.
10. (Japanese title), Izumi's Theme - This sounds like something ballerina's would dance to. It's cute, though.
11. an Endless tale - A duet and it's VERY good. After all those fast songs, we all need something slow and moving. I like this one.
12. Get The Biggest Fire!! - I got a kick out of this one. There's more dialogue than singing and five what sounds like censor beeps (four from Takuya). It's basically Takuya and Kouji - um - trying to sing something? They keep on interrupting each other . . Takuya scream-sings and Kouji just . . . hm. They have small cuts from Tamers "The Biggest Dreamer" and "FIRE!!". It runs about eight and a half minutes - so that means eight and a half minutes of bickering, off-tune singing, and the like. This track almost always makes me laugh.

I love this CD and recommend it to all the other Frontier-freaks out there.

I don't think I'll buy the CD. I'll just go online and stare at Koji. It should be good though!
