The Best,
By Daniel (Los Angeles, CA USA) - See all my reviews
This review is from: Digimon World 2 (Video Game)
Digimon World 2 is so good I love it. It is so much better than Digimon World 1. In Digimon World 2 you do not need to worry about feeding your digimon or any of that. There are a lot more digimon than in the first and some of the digimons digivolutions are like the ones in the show. Instead being able to do anything you want like in the first game it is more controlled and more like a RPG. When you first start out you have Triceramon, Megaseadramon and Lillymon for your first quest. Then you get to pick a digimon of your choose by going to a different HQ like for Demi Devimon(The one I got) you go to Black Sword HQ, for Patamon you go to Blue Falcon HQ and for Agumon you go to Silver Cross HQ. And one of the many good things about this game is that you get to capture digimon. Thanks for hearing what I have to say.

Awesome Sequel to Digimon World,
A Kid's Review
This review is from: Digimon World 2 (Video Game)
I am a 12 year old video game freak, and this is one of the best games I have played. Unlike DW1, you do not need to worry about feeding you digimon or taking them to the toilet. Plus, they never die and just continue to evolve and get stronger. The game takes place in the future, when people actually live in the digi world. You are a boy trying to become the ultimate trainer. After the tutorial like thing (you get to use Lillymon, MegaSeadramon and Triceramon fo it), you get either Patamon, Agumon or Demidevimon to start. You then must complete dungeons (really just big mazes with digimon in them) to defeat the evil forces. You also get a really cool car/tank vehicle called a digi-beatle, which you travel in. This a a game for anyone who likes Pokemon and RPG's.

They made it right,

Digimon world 1 was confusing and hard you couldnt get the digimon you wanted like greymon. You would have to have outstanding stats just to to get the second best digimon. But on digimon world 2 agumon can only digivolve to greymon. But now you can go mega so you can get wargreymon or omnimon( the fusesd version of metalgarumon and wargreymon). You dont have to wait for your digimon to digivolve(but you have to train it like pokemon). your digimon doesnt digivolve in the middle of your game. You can pick a team to be on and get your favorite heros and villians. This games has nothing to do with the first game because the first one was about the keychain while in this one your a guard. I dont know why they even brought the first one here so this is the best game to get if your into digimon. ps you can get the digimon from the show. And you can dna digivolve your digimon into a new rookie digimon so it can become a new champion and ultimate and so on. plus you can capture digimon and use 3 of them ata time.

Digital Adventure 2!,

This review is from: Digimon World 2 (Video Game)
This is an awesome game, you can digivolve to mega, mess around with DNA Digivolves, get more Digimon, including the second season! And the character you play wears different clothing and you can have three digimon! And you don't have to wait to digivolve, you can when you want to! But you shouldn't digivolve them just yet, they need more training! And you can armor Digivolve! Even use other armors! More example, say you use the Digi-egg of Courage of gatomon, she'd become Lynxmon! PLUS! You can get terriermon, and all his forms and golden armor digivolve him! And get, and Digivolve all the Digidestined around the world's Digimon! I REALLY guarantee it! ^_^

First of all I have not played the exact game that Amazon is selling. I played the version in Japan. The game is so much better than Digiomon World One. You can control sooo many more digimon, you can also send three digimon into battle, and best of all you can DNA digivolve to form ultimate digimon. This game was really a lot of fun to play over in Japan and I hope that the US version is just as good.

From Digidestined to a Digimon tamer,
A Kid's Review
This review is from: Digimon World 2 (Video Game)
An Awesome game. Beats the pants off the original. For example: No feeding necessary, nor care mistakes, more digimon from the show, but it's not like the show. It's more of a: Pokemon meet Digimon sort of thing. You "Tame" digimon as you would "capture" Pokemon, but you can only carry 3 digimon at a time instead of 6 like pokemon. Plus, now you can DNA digivolve which is cool, but there are 3 downsides: 1: you return to the previous evolutionary stage. (ex; Greymon and Airdramon DNA digivolve to Veemon) 2: You return to the beginning level of the previous evolutionary stage. And 3: (The obvious) You start with 2 and then DNA DGVolve to a single DGMon. But an upside is that now you can Digivolve to mega. Like WarGreymon or Metalgarurumon.

The Game Is Awesome,

This game is very capturing. The graphics are good! When you go into battle it is like going into another dimension! Digimon world 2 is like pokemon gold/silver, and it puts the f in fun. It is not like digimon world, it is better! I am a fan of both digimon, and pokemon, and I think it is about the same thing. I conclude that the game is great.

The second digiomon game!!!!!,
By Ro "56" (Seattle, WA USA) - See all my reviews
This review is from: Digimon World 2 (Video Game)
If U like games and have a Ps2 0r Ps1 get the Game!!!!! This game is great. You can have more than one Digimon. You can even battle other tamers once you get a Regessteration Pass and battle in the place. You can choose the vriouse team, the data team or the vaccinne team. I picked the vaccine team and got augumon. but it took forever for him to become Greymon. Greymon still had augumon's baby vioce when he did Peper breath. The graphics are not bad but all the duegeon look alike. in the Bios Domain, before you fight the boss, u can capture Metal greymon. (which wuld save me a lot of work on greymon.) To beat the Bios domain, you digimon has to be at: Lv.11 -lv.16. Can U pleaze tell me how to capture metal greymon? That wuld help. I love the battle graphics because you can controll how your digimon fights. If your out of MP, use the gaurd command. It renews your Mp and cut's the opponent's ayttack by 3 or possibly more. you don't have to fight everytime, you can just run away so you can save your MP for the boss. Before going out on a mission, save. Also rookies elvove at lv.11, champions at lv.21, utalmites at lv31. When you dna you get a rookie or champion or urtamite depending on the level: mega+ mega= urtamite. urtamite+utramite= champion Champion+ champion + rookies champion + Utramite = Rookie Mega + Urtamite = rookie Mega+ champion = ???? The EPsucks. I was so close to the koritermon booss, that culd spit on him but Since I didn't have enough eP to move on I culdn't beat him. So i had to upgrade My EP by the mechanic. The max Ep you can have is 500. When you visit the Medatation Dome, talk to angemon and he will give you 2000 bits.

For Digimon fanatics and people who liked Wild Arms,

I got to say, when I saw this game when my little stepbro rented it, I thought it was going to be the same thing as the original Digi-World game, which got boring in a hurry. Thankfully, this game doesn't disappoint. Although it suffers in a few key areas, it's still a fun game to try out, and maybe even buy.Graphics - Since you need to see most of what is going on in the domains, the dungeons in DW2, and know what color floor makes your Digimon and their opponents stronger, the graphics don't disappoint. Vibrant colors and pictures render out the other half of the graphics department. They scored big on here. Sure, the domains look just about exactly the same, but you'll be too busy trying to find your way through the sometimes massive levels that you won't even notice it. 5/5 Controls - Almost PERFECT!! The menu-driven menus, commonplace in today's RPGs (except for Final Fantasy fans, who should feel spoiled right now), are easy to get through, and veryeasy to find what you need to find. The overworld would've been better if you could've moved in all directions, however. It would've been really better if this game took advantage of the Dual Shock's abilities, which it doesn't. 4/5 Gameplay - Bandai, learning that just about no one wants to see a Digimon go to the bathroon ANYWHERE on the game, and have the remains STAY there throughout, focused more on the actually battling and digivolving of the game. They have also given players MUCH more control of what the Digimon chooses for the battles. And they Digivolve the RIGHT way, and you know what you are going to get BEFORE you go and Digivole or DNA Digivolve them. Furthermore, you can have more than one Digimon at a time, when you were only allowed one in the first DW, and you had to fight like HELL to get that to NOT Digivolve into an awful Numeron (who, by the way, can kick your Digimon's [bottom] now if you aren't careful). Players will have to devote ALOT of time into this game, which helps into the fun factor. The battles, for some reason, play an awful lot like the battles that Wild Arms, a PS masterpiece of a game, did, and the rest of the game plays much the same. Sure, the main storyline will possibly be linear, but the sub-stories that go along with it will keep you interested. 5/5 Music - For some reason, the battle theme caught on to me. It was really well done, from my estimation. They could've done some work on the dungeon musics, however, and they could've also made the Meditation Dome's music less annoying. Other than that, it a high score. 4/5 Fun Factor - Just about perfect. The story is linear, but you probably won't have enough time to notice from all the sub-plots, Digimon-catching/Digivolving, and other things that you can do here. 4/5 Challenge - This is something I don't rate, because although it may be geared for younger kids, the challenge in this game will also occupy the minds of older gamers that want to get a good RPG to play. It'll keep you playing for hours on end. Overall - Sure, the plot is very indifferent, but the many sub-plots aren't. This isn't going to win best game of the year awards, but at the same time, it isn't going to win worst game of the year awards either. This is one of those fun games that, unfortuantly, will find itself overshadowed by games like Final Fantasy. However, Digimon fans will NOT be disappointed by this offering, and neither will true-to-heart RPG fans, and people who got into Wild Arms and it's gameplay will find NO trouble picking up this one. 4/5 |
