4.0 out of 5 stars Good, complex, well programmed, but very much like the first.
Dusk Is part of a set of two games. The only real difference between the two is what specie are available so make sure you check which version you really want. The plot is typical follow an up and coming trainer as some unspeakable evil tries to conquer the world, but the real attraction here is the gameplay. Lovers of pokemon will be familiar with the party of critters...

3.0 out of 5 stars Good and bad
The game is a good game. It is addicting, especially if you are one of those who enjoys raising critters.
It has its flaws... ok it has a lot of flaws, but if you are like me, you get so into the raising and battling of the game you are able to overlook the annoying sound, bad graphics, and poorly presented storyline.

I give it a 6/10. I enjoy playing...

4.0 out of 5 stars Good, complex, well programmed, but very much like the first., January 4, 2008

Dusk Is part of a set of two games. The only real difference between the two is what specie are available so make sure you check which version you really want. The plot is typical follow an up and coming trainer as some unspeakable evil tries to conquer the world, but the real attraction here is the gameplay. Lovers of pokemon will be familiar with the party of critters battle system though the creation and abilities are a lot easier on Digimon and don't detract from the game. Farms have changed a bit, theme music and skins now make farms suited to one type or another.
Overall it's very much another version of digimon world for the DS, new species, slight improvements longer story. Not bad all in all though extremely young players may struggle with the aspects of monster raising as they're more complex than pokemon.
The verdict: Not bad, pick it up if you like this type of thing.

if you like pokemon you would like it. if you like digimon you would love it. i started playing 5 hours a day. if you are like me you originally liked digimon but found other interests. in that case you will recognize a lot of them plus find new ones. unlike other rpg games there is a big after story. i soon got my sister and 2 friends into it. ps also consider digimon dawn

4.0 out of 5 stars Great Gameplay, June 17, 2008
= Fun:4.0 out of 5 stars
This review is from: Digimon World: Dusk (Video Game)
The story is minimal. It uses a quest system that slowly advances the story.
The graphics are a little dated.
However, the battles are the reason I bought and liked this game. The large selection of digimon and the ability to customize them add a good deal of strategy to the game.

Pokemon was better in my opinion, but if you like those kind of games, then I'd pick this up too.

5.0 out of 5 stars Addicting Fun, December 6, 2009
= Fun:5.0 out of 5 stars
This review is from: Digimon World: Dusk (Video Game)
This is a great game if you like Pokemon or other monster rasing RPGS. Its very addicting and although I've only played 3 hours, I can see its a long game; especially if you want to get all the Digimon. Unlike Pokemon which limits you to what your Pokemon can evolve into, in this game there are several digivolutions for your Digimon and you can always go back on a stage and change it up. There are also alot of quests which is deifferent from Pokemons linear questline. Overall I recommend getting this if you like these kinds of games or Digimon.

4.0 out of 5 stars Good Game, Unsurprisingly, January 31, 2009
= Fun:4.0 out of 5 stars
This review is from: Digimon World: Dusk (Video Game)
This is a good game in the Digimon World series (don't worry if you haven't played the other ones). The game had a battle system and view style reminiscent of Dragon Warrior Monsters, you see only your opponents and the attack animations of your own attacks during battles, and that was a welcome bit of nostalgia for me when I played this. The storyline is OK, could've been a little less predictable, but hey what isn't predictable anymore? I will warn you, there is going to be a moderate amount of level grinding especially when you're trying to get past some of the more irritating boss fights, but if you play any MMORPG's you'll barely notice it. I found the wifi breeding to be quite enjoyable, seeing the different digimon various people had raised. I would also like to say that finding people who had obviously used hacking devices (for example, action replay and gameshark) to make their digimon powerful or their farms overloaded, really is annoying when you've worked hard, so don't do it. Overall a good game from an always evolving and always fun series.

4.0 out of 5 stars Very Pleased, June 12, 2009
= Fun:4.0 out of 5 stars
This review is from: Digimon World: Dusk (Video Game)
Was a very good game there is a great deal of choices as far as digimon selection goes, and I am very fond of the digifarm. The battle system was a bit of a disapointment (first person) and there isn't very much endgame content. Overall however it is definitely worth buying
