I use this battery with a Nikon S710. It is rated as less powerful than the OEM (original) battery, and while it lasts a bit less time than the original, if you carry a second battery "just incase" as I do, and rarely use the backup battery, this is definitely an economical solution. It charges just as fast as the OEM battery, doesn't seem to cause any additional heat or anything like that, fits just as the OEM does and is significantly less expensive. I used it for a full day of taking photos at a theme park, mostly without a flash, and only the last 2 or 3 photos did I need to switch over to the OEM battery as the "backup".

Fully recommended if your backup battery is just that-- a backup and not a second full use battery.

This seems to be good, and as others have said if you plan to use it as a back up battery it will be fine.
However, it is 900 mah as opposed to 1050 mah in the oem product. Not a huge difference, I just thought it should be pointed out. It is not in the text anywhere on the product page, only shows in the photo of the product. A bit sneaky if you ask me. There are other replacement batteries on Amazon, it might be worth a look to see if any of them are 1050 mah.
Also as others said, the oem battery is ridiculously overpriced, 5 times as much as this. If they had half a brain, the manufacturers would make it twice the cost, and probably get 80% of people to spring for the difference..
At their current prices, I'm sure they only sell to people who are scared to death of what will happen if they put in a different battery.

This is a great battery for an amazingly low price! In fact, I think it lasts longer than the Nikon battery that came with my camera. No troubles using or recharging. It's always worth having an extra battery around for your camera so you don't miss anything. Get a wall charger so you can always have a full battery around. I'm very happy with this purchase.

Why spend more for a Nikon Battery? This fit perfectly in my Nikon Cool Pix S8000 and all the functions work, just like they do with the original. It also holds a charge for the same time as the original!
I have a Canon Camcorder and I tried a replacement battery in it and the Canon doesn't recognize anything but a "Canon" battery at 10 times the cost!
Shame on Canon! From now on I am buying nothing but Nikon Cameras! Canon can keep their products!

I got it to have a back-up for my Nikon's factory battery. It works. I can update this if I have more to say.

I bought this as a back up for my Nikon digital camera. It lasts just as long as the nikon battery, charged fast, and arrived fast! I would buy it again!

This is good battery. The charge is slightly lower than the actual Nikon version, but it is also much cheaper. Keep on eye on it as the price can go under four bucks...direct from Amazon. If you can get if for that price, there is nothing to complain about.
