I got this camera as a gift. I plugged it in the first time and it worked. When I took it with me to New York City, it was dead. I tried resetting it with a paper clip (in the hole on the bottom) and nothing. I tried every troubleshooting method and nothing has worked. Also, after looking up these issues on the Internet, I've noticed this is a very common problem so buyer beware!!!

My mom bought 2, one for me to video the grandchildren and one for herself. It worked great initially until I plugged it into a USB plug into the wall and not directly into my computer - it stopped working. Months later, when my mom came to visit her grandchildren, she gave me hers. I tried to turn it on but it said the battery was dead. The next day, I plugged it into my computer USB, and after unplugging it, the red charging light stayed on and the camera wouldn't turn on. Not a good product.

Dead on arrival. Was on hold with customer service for 2 hours, and tried the resolutions (reset button, charge in different outlets, usb ports, etc.). Sent it back.
Received a SECOND flip cam, again dead on arrival.
