Much greater mAh (1000) than the OEM (660), and since you will need a spare battery, save some cash and get one of equal quality and greater power.

This battery has worked very well in my camera, and it's great since it has more mAh than the original EN-EL10 battery from Nikon.
I recommend buying it!

This battery lasts about 50-100 shots longer than the standard battery that came with my wife's Nikon S-60. We've been using it for a couple months, and it seems to be retaining a charge with no issues.

I purchased this battery for our camera as a backup. We charged it the first time and it worked great. I then went to re charge it and it now will not fit into the charger the same. It does not make contact with the charger prongs. I need to use a toothpick or a piece of cardboard to 'pry' the battery to make contact with the charging prongs. Funny thing is the battery that came with the camera still charges just fine.

Agreeing with all of the reviewer's you truly need a backup battery. Equal quality, good power, and you can save money. Well worth it so now I never have to worry about battery life !!

DO NOT Buy this battery if you have a nikon coolpix. This battery came up for me on the site when I put the coolpix in my cart- and this battery is not compatible with Nikon coolpix. It is completely the wrong size.

Used only a couple of times, and then failed to charge. Oem original battery still going strong, but this one was a dud. Would recommend paying a little more for the oem.

I bought this battery on Amazon in July 2010. It does fit my Nikon Coolpix S3000, but after less than 6 months of use, it does not hold the charge any more and I get a message "Battery Exhausted" as soon as I switch the camera on, despite a full night charge. The original Nikon battery is still alive, so I guess I will switch to the original.

Bought one in Oct 09, began to fail to recharge properly a few months later, now won't recharge at all. OEM battery lasted about 1.5 yrs; this replacement only lasted about 6 months - not a good purchase. I'm now buying a new OEM battery.

I always purchase an extra battery for all of my cameras. I bought my wife a Nikon coolpix and saw this battery listed. I always purchase OEM accessories but honestly my wife doesn't use her camera often so I thought I'd try an aftermarket battery and see how it works. Her camera sits idle for long periods between uses. Recently at a family outing she grabbed her camera and found it not working due to the original battery discharged, she put this battery on and its been working fine since (that was 2 weeks ago). It appears that it holds a charge for a long time as you would hope.
