This melted the 2nd time I used it. Yes, melted. I smelled something funny and it was this converter drive which had warped into a strange shape, was oozing some sort of substance from its back, and the top had come off due to the warping. I used pliars to pull it out of my USB port because it was so hot.

So, not only do I have a ruined xd reader/writer, it also ruined my 2GB xd card that was in there.

Unless you want a huge fire hazard in your home or office, then do not buy this worthless product.

This item will only allow one at a time moving of photos from the usb drive onto a pc file. Otherwise an error will occur when trying to move several photos at once or all of the photos. It would have been great if it worked better because the size makes it perfect for travel.

The Digital Concepts CF Card Reader will not work in my Dell Inspiron 6400 - I get an "I/o Drive" error.

Oh well, it was kind of cheesy looking anyway.

Back to the store for me.

I got one for free in a "camera kit". Both the battery and this product singularly failed to work. The battery did not hold a charge, and this device fused my Kodak 512H XD card. Digital Concepts is probably the worst electronics company in existence. DO NOT WANT.

I had the exact same experience as one of the previous people who reviewed this product:

I had it plugged into my USB hub and smelled the distinctive odor of burning electronics. I saw the melted pile of this card reader on my desk and immediately pulled power to my system.

*** THIS PRODUCT IS LITERALLY A FIRE HAZARD ***

I would take a picture and post it, but this card reader physically destroyed my xD card for my camera--it actually melted and smoked my xD card.

I bought mine at Office Max, but after it smoked I searched the web for any other similar experiences and found the above post.

*** THIS PRODUCT SHOULD BE RECALLED ***
