Junk,

I purchased this knowing that the quality would be "iffy" at best. However, I did think it would at least produce an image similar to cellphone quality. The shutter would only fire randomly and the batteries died immediately, as a result making it almost impossible to even get an image. I would not recommend this.

What did you expect!...It's a $24.00 camera!,

I bought this camera because it had underwater capbilites, and we were taking our computer on vacation and I thought it would be fun to review some pictures as the trip progressed. Considering the price..this camera did great! We snorkled everyday...and got some great shots...you can't expect wonders, but I was plesantly surprised. We photographed a sleeping sea turle, sting rays, and lots of little reef fish...all were clearly visible, some well lit and very colorful, others blurry. The kids loved seeing themselves snorkling. I have an old underwater Canon (sureshot- 35mm) which takes better pictures....but this camera just gave us another option. Our outdoor pictures came out pretty good, too...although, as the other reviewer said...conditions have to be just right to get good pictures. This camera is not without it's faults. Like any cheap piece of electronics it occasionally does crazy stuff. The last day diving we lost our pictures, because one of the kids may have pressed the wrong buttons in some sequence...or...the batteries ran out...or the camera program just froze. Battery life does seem a little short..and if they die...you lose your pictures..which is a bummer. The pictures can also be somewhat "pixely," especially if you zoom in and crop closely. My 10 year old loves this camera..and we have had lots of fun with it. It's small, lightweight, and waterproof in the case. We bought one for her best friend, and they love to go around taking photos, then running in and putting them on the computer to "see what they have." Photos can be a range of quality...but again.....it's a $24.00 camera.

you need a LOT of light for the camera to shoot the picture. we even had problems inside the house. it's a disapointing christmas gift and i would not recommend it at all. i didn't give it a 1 because if all the conditions are perfect, the pictures are pretty good and not very difficult to load onto the computer for viewing.

I bought this camera for my daughter to take on a trip to Mexico (she wanted an underwater camera for snorkeling). The batteries were consumed by the camera so quickly (even if we shut the camera off) that she didn't even bring home any pictures. If the battery runs out, all pictures are lost. After three attempts with three sets of batteries, we gave up. Big disappointment.

C'mon, it's a cheap camera (more like a battery operated usb stick with a lens). Cut it some slack. We bought one ages ago and forgot we had it. Just prior to a recent holiday in Vanuatu I pulled it out and threw it into the bag with some batteries, just in case, not expecting much. Used it there, no problem, watertight, brought it home, plugged it into my Mac - nothing. Not even recognition that something was in the usb port. So I loaded up the provided software onto my aged and wheezing PC desktop, connected the camera and lo! There were all the pictures! Sure, they weren't flash but they were there. But then I noticed the 'enhance' function on the loaded software. Brilliant! My slightly washed out pics were suddenly vibrant and full of the colour that the real underwater world had had. So, camera, probably a 2. Software, definitely a 3. Put them together and the whole deal has to be worth 3 stars.

False Advertising Tigerdirect,
This review is from: Digital Concepts Aqua Shot VGA Under Water Digital Camera (Color May Vary) (Electronics)
The Tigerdirect site claims this is a 3 megapixiel camera. That is false, it is 0.3 mp. Picture quality is a joke, camera phone probably better. There is no way this camera would take a shot underwater on it's own without help from lights. Save your money on this thing.

A cute inexpensive way to take underwater pictures. They came out ok, not very high resolution. Great for kids.Buy the lithium batteries and you are set. Worth it for the price.

We love this camera! We bought 3 to go to the Galapagos. The pictures it takes underwater are equivalent to what you see through your mask. The pictures exceeded my expectations by a large margin. Not as good as my canon 30D but three cost less than the tax on the canon.

I bought this hoping it could be used for a one time manatee swim on our Florida trip, and also be a digital camera for my 6 year old. we tested it and underwater the pictures come out as blue and red spots and is worthless. i was surprised for the small amount of pixels this camera has, above water and in plenty of light, the picture quality is okay only if you hold the camera very still. it's a neat concept with the outside case. there's no SD card so pictures cannot be viewed on the camera. have to download camera to computer in order to see pictures. bummer. had to look at instruction booklet as it's complicated to use. my son accidentally changed the low/high resolution and compression settings half way through taking pictures, and i think this is what prevented us from downloading the pictures to the computer. i had to delete all pictures, and take out the batteries to reset it. and it was okay after that. installing the software has to be done in a certain order, and i had to do it 3 times to successfully install the software. the 3rd time took only because i got out the directions.
