5.0 out of 5 stars Great Beginning Digi-Scrap book!, January 7, 2007
By
Karen L. (Dallas, Texas) - See all my reviews
This review is from: Digital Designs for Scrapbooking (Spiral-bound)
This is EXACTLY the book I was looking for. I already knew that I wanted to digi-scrap, I had PSE, photos loaded and was READY TO GO! The PSE program is a little complex, so I was getting overwhelmed. I was also getting overwhelmed with all the sites dedicated to "how tos" and all of the downloadable kit options. I was spinning my wheels. I needed a step by step "how to" book to get me going quickly (I was anxious to get started) and to keep me focused.

This book is perfect. It came with a CD full of digi scrap kits. (Also came with a CD for a trial version of PSE for mac or windows, in case you don't have it yet and were on the line about purchasing). Each chapter describes step by step, with pictures, how to create a page using their digi kits on the CD and your own photos. Each chapter builds on the skills learned in the previous chapters. I found each chapter going very quickly for me (10-20 minutes each) -- I am well versed in computing but not the PSE program. This is a very effortless way to learn.

The are 5 different kits, I believe. They are very attractive sets. These sets can be used to create your own pages, outside of the tutorials.

Without this book, I don't think I would have gotten off to such a fast, positive start. I may otherwise be still thinking about wanting to get started and wondering if I could learn. It seems very effortless now. Probably the best "how to" book I've ever used (I'm usually not a fan).

5.0 out of 5 stars The Best Book Available for Learning Digital Scrapbooking, May 15, 2006

This is absolutely the best book available for learning the ins and outs of digital scrapbooking. It comes with a disk that includes 4 collections of digital paper designs and digital elements to use with those papers. The disk alone is worth the price of the book.

Renee is practical and very easy to understand. She gives detailed, step by step instructions to help you create beautiful scrapbook pages. She also easily explains the basic and the advanced features of Photoshop Elements.

This is not just a book of pretty pictures, this is everything you need to start creating beautiful digital scrapbook pages.

Amazon Verified Purchase(What's this?)
This review is from: Digital Designs for Scrapbooking (Spiral-bound)
I bought this book after taking an online class with Renee and it was even better than I expected. It really gives great instructions on the "HOW". In addition, she manages to show some different styles and lots of tricks and tips that I would never have gotten on my own. Definitely a must have for the digital scrapper. And lots of goodies on the enclosed CD. Four different sets of digital papers/embellishments. These alone are worth the price of the book. It has a nice wirebound binding covered with paperboard so that it lies flat when I'm trying new things out.
