5.0 out of 5 stars The Digital Domain, December 19, 2002

I purchased the original CD when it was originally released and played it on Sony's first CD player, the CDP101. To hear the water trickle, you have to turn the volume up quite a bit and when that Jet flys by, the whole room started shaking and the windows rattled and I thought for a moment, a real Jet had just flown over my house! Unbelievable to say the least. A must have for anyone who wants to test their audio system. They should have put a warning label on it!

5.0 out of 5 stars Twenty years later, November 6, 2003
By A Customer
This review is from: Digital Domain (Audio CD)
Bought this when it came out in 1983. Now, twenty years later, it's still amazingly enjoyable. Back then, when almost nobody had heard of Compact Discs, I'd blow their minds and their socks off with this disc. Today I listened to it for the first time in years and it's such an odd, interesting, creative batch of sound effects, songs, and experimental stuff -- not to mention some good sound-system-checking material. There's real music here and all kinds of other bizarre and interesting things. And it's not skimpy on quantity either. A true original, a true digital antique, and still great!

Got this one in 1987. Cool sounds. The helecopter sound is the best I've ever heard on a recording.

5.0 out of 5 stars A Classic, May 1, 2004
By A Customer
This review is from: Digital Domain (Audio CD)
I bought this when it first came out. I used to surreptitiously put it on (with volume set high) when I had people over to my apartment. Amidst the conversation they usually wouldn't notice the relatively quiet outdoor noises, then suddenly an airplane would roar overhead shaking the walls, and they would be startled and burst out laughing. It was a pretty nerdy trick but fun.

5.0 out of 5 stars The Medieval Garden Of Their Roaring Blossoms, May 11, 2010
This review is from: Digital Domain (Audio CD)
Lions are growing like yellow roses on the wind
and we turn gracefully in the medieval garden
of their roaring blossoms.

Oh, I want to turn.

Oh, I am turning.

Oh, I have turned.

Thank you.

Man, that track will trip you out. Seriously. And then the THX sound tag into a jet flying overhead...don't try this on drugs. People playing racquetball. And a helicopter recorded by Mickey Hart for Apocalypse Now. For some test CD I sure have listened to it a lot. Weird, useful and fun.

5.0 out of 5 stars this is what you have been looking for, September 27, 1998
This review is from: Digital Domain (Audio CD)
In 1983, the cd was well on it's way in becoming a household word and an agreed upon and impprovement over that big plastic round thing. Maybe a novelty at first, but for sure this is the real thing. and willpush your system (and your head) to the limit. The ride starts with track one, and from there it just gets better. What a treat, a disk that has way cool out of this world sounds and all ya need to tune up your system (and your head). Put headphones on for that first track!
