5.0 out of 5 stars WOW
WOW is the appropiate way to describe the selections on this cd. Any reviewer who thinks this cd does not deliver the best in electronica really doesn't know anything about music and is not allowed to read ANY of my reviews.

3.0 out of 5 stars Good choices of cuts, but too mainstream.
This compilation is indeed good, but tracks like Prodigy's No Good, and Underworld's Born Slippy were uncalled for. Smaller bands should have had airtime instead, since the big names have mostly been heard.

WOW is the appropiate way to describe the selections on this cd. Any reviewer who thinks this cd does not deliver the best in electronica really doesn't know anything about music and is not allowed to read ANY of my reviews.

Prodigy's "No Good" and "Choose Life" featuring Ewan McGregor are the songs I use to pack the dance floor as well as BT's "Flaming June", Atomic Babies "Smiles" and The Propellaheadz "Take California".

I can never get enough of "Fat Boy Slim's" BIG BEAT. "Going Out Of My Head" delivers big time with a sample reference to The Who's "Can't Explain". And definilty check out Doormouse's "414". It is the most hardcore dance track I have ever heard.

Also this cd's pacing is very good meaning it doesn't drag like most techno, dance & electro cd's.

This is one of BoBo's "Required Listening" and is the beginning of an awesome collection of music for you. Digital Empire II & III deliver the same type of diversiry as this cd. Try this one first

I was just browsing around and had to review this album for one reason. I don't OWN IT, but I own all the tracks on this 2cd compilation (except two). This is by far one of the best compilations for ANYONE who is new to electronic-dance-club music and is a steal. Figure it this way. I've been a long time listenener of this type of music and what you're going to get cost me upwards of $200.00 buying all the different cds. But I got to listen to it all FIRST. :)

4.0 out of 5 stars One of the best albums around, June 6, 2001
This review is from: Digital Empire: Electronica's Best (Audio CD)
This album is kind of old, as new releases of Digital Empire have been sold, but this one remembers some of the good artists of the end of the millennium. And that's why you can see how this product got sold out when it first came out. You open it up, put CD1 on your player and then you know you won't stop listening to it, starting with Prodigy and ending with Doormouse on CD2. Definitely, this is really worth buying.

This is a great guide to diversity within techno. You get the funky mixed with trancy. Not to fast and not to slow. I call this mix house trance great for after work or when your heading out for some fine tuning at a party or club.

5.0 out of 5 stars Best CD ever, January 20, 2003

As the subject says, this is the best cd ever. I am a techno junkie, and have always bought cds like this, but most end up pretty bad. Then I got this one, and was blown away. There is not *one* bad track on the entire 2 CD set! I highly, highly reccomend Digital Empire. You won't be dissapointed.

Underworld, Rabbit in the Moon, Joey Beltram. This cannot be that bad of a compilation cosidering there are some of the best songs of a few years ago. I bought it when it first came out and I wasn't even into electronic that much but it sure led my hand into finding out what there was in store for me if I explored a little bit. Good overall compilation but definetly aimed at the commercial side.

this cd incouraged me to buy more and more techno albums. It is definently the best of techno. I liked pretty much everyone of the 24 tracks. This selection has two discs and is probably the best cd i have ever bought

4.0 out of 5 stars Good, but..., March 23, 1999

This review is from: Digital Empire: Electronica's Best (Audio CD)
For those new to electronica, this is a good album for starters. A friend of mine recommended it to me and thought it was good, but there was a part of the first disc where melody was lacking (namely tracks 5-7). Other than that, it's got some very nice rhythms, melodies, and samples.

Here is a CD that serves as an excellent party CD but also manages to entertain you with great beats on a sunday afternoon. A must have even if you have the Crystal Method and Chemical Brothers CD's already.
