I purchased this product for my parents and works. While a bigger screen size could be better for elderly, photos look excellent (800 X 600 resolution) and videos and music too. The ability of the camera to show digital media (photos, movies taken directly from a digital camera and the music mp3 files) immediately after plug-in a new external card is superb, u don't even need to turn-off the frame. So far the frame has performed very well and I don't see any issue with the frame. Package comes with three mats (black, gray and cream (off-white).
The power supply works with 120 - 240 Volts.

After doing a great deal of research into the digital photo frames in the 8" to 11" category, I selected this 8" Digital Foci frame to be the one to purchase. It was a bit more than I had wanted to spend but after reviewing all of the features that it has (more internal memory with 145MB, random slideshow option, interchangeable mats that are provided, ability to sort photos in separate folders for viewing, support for virtually all memory devices, and much more), I was willing to spend the extra money for it. I bought it directly from Amazon.com and it came well packaged and arrived in less than a week. After spending some time reading the user's manual (which is written in clear easy-to-understand English), it did not take long to set up the frame for viewing. I used the internal memory for the music files and put the picture files on an SD card and it works very smoothly. The pictures are bright and clear with great color and the music adds a very nice touch to the slideshow. This is a great product for a great price and has a lot of great features. I recommend this frame for anyone looking for one in this size.

I purchased a couple of digital photo frames as gifts. This is one brand I chose from Consumer Report recommendation. I also chose an 8 inch HP as recommended also. I have given the HP to my mother as it is really easy to activate and she likes simplicity. I will order this one for myself as it has more options. The clarity is great and I love the size of the frame. I would recommend it to everyone. I have tested it for a couple of weeks with no issues.

This is the second digital I bought. Needed to return the first one. So this was a pleasant one to work with and load pictures directly from the PC. It comes with a cable. That's great because the first one didn't and although I have a lot of cameras and other items that connect, none fit that frame. The remote is not great at all. Can't tell when it will work and when it won't. I finally gave up and use the controls on the unit.

I had a lot of trouble getting random to work, but finally it did.

Now that I have it set up, I am really happy with the image and it is viewable from different angles of the room.

It will be a Christmas gift for the grandparents and I'm excited to give it to them, for their enjoyment.

Display is exceptionally good (contrast ratio, matte screen, etc.). But there are two operational defects:
1. The auto-on/off timer doesn't work -- keeps resetting itself. (Update: The super-capacitor was replaced under warranty, and then apparently died again. Now out of warranty.) I really wanted to program it to come on automatically just before I get home, and to go off when I go to bed, so I don't have to think about it.
2. The response to the remote is incredibly slow. It can take several minutes just to turn it on, scroll to select a playlist, and start playing.
This much bother, I just don't use it much.

Wayyyy too complicated. I'm handy with electronics like computers, video games, digital cameras, cell phones etc. But this picture frame was just too much. Not user friendly at all. Just wanted something simple to display my pictures in a slideshow.

I'm pretty darn good with computers and get my way around without much of a problem. I shoot my own pics, used photoshop without problems, but this product is WAY to complicated to operate. After 2 hours of attempting to set it up on my computer, I finally gave up. I'm retunring it today.

I originally stated that this was a great product. I had to return one because it stopped working after two weeks. The replacement frame is working, and has for about a month and a half. However, some of the images now are beginning to distort, leaving discoloration on the screen for the duration of that picture.

Also, the company information states that this product, with 450 mb, will hold "thousands of pictures". It in fact does not. Mine holds 212 and I continually have to delete pictures (which I don't want to do) in order to add more pictures.

Overall I am extremely dissatisfied with this product and am hoping to return it for a better frame.

Had to return. Worked for about 20 minutes. Shut it off and could not get it to turn back on.
