If you are interested in using your Digital Image Knowledge to effect image manipulations within Matlab, this the book to read . Even if you do not have a preexisting knowledge of the subject , there is sufficient introduction for the uninitiated to to move along. However as most books written by Eastern writers the flow of information seem to be backwards to westerners. Often you will be trying to follow Matlab procedures to do things that will not be introduced until several chapters later. There is plenty of Typos and an abundance of strange characters that ultimately do not relate to the paragraph in any discernible way , but that create confusion and wasted time trying to make sense of the phrases involved. This book certainly could have used some proofreading.

This book is a decent introductory book to learn the basics of MATLAB and image analysis. The choices of content were good and examples are there to see how things work. I would have given a higher rating but there are many typos, grammatical mistakes and editing snafus. This actually reads like a set of polished notes rather than a completed book.
