great beginner guide,

This book explains all the ins and outs of computer image technology. The product overviews are a nice guide to see what you might want to purchase. The main problem is it is out-of-date on the product versions, pricing (way high in most cases) and the technology - written when a first generation Pentium was still state of the art. If they update this it would rate higher.
