5.0 out of 5 stars Great little device, March 22, 2006

This is a great way to get some level of protection from the AWFUL state of customer service at most companies today, where one person you talk to promises you something and the next person denies you could have been told such a thing. This at least gives you a tool to fight back with.

The good thing about this device is that it's not a recorder - it uses your computer as the recorder, allowing you to skip the step of having to transfer the call file to your computer so that you can use it, i.e. email it to someone. It stores calls in file folders by date. I plan to leave mine hooked up to my phone all the time and just delete files after they are a couple of weeks old (after I have saved any specific call files I need for longer term use).

3.0 out of 5 stars OK but nothing to brag about, July 29, 2007

I needed a reliable way to record incoming phone calls to my office and was tired of using the old analog tapes. I bought this item, and although it is OK, I found it unsatisfactory for my purpose. Yes it does record the calls on your computer, but that means you must have your computer on at all times you want to record calls. But what turned me "off" on this product was that in addition to recording calls, it records anything else that plays on your computer. For example, if you play a music or video file on your computer, it records that song or audio track the same as a phone call. And when you play back a previously recorded call, it records that same call all over again so you have it twice. I cannot find a way to make it record only phone calls, and email to the manufacturer weeks ago has never been responded to. I have packed the thing back into its box and put it in storage. My solution was to buy an Olumpus DS30 digital recorder that runs off AC/DC power. I have it plugged directly into the phone line so it records only calls, not music files, and I can now turn off the computer at night. No batteries to worry about as the DS30 runs off building power with the AC/DC adapter. Get the DS30 if you want reliable recording of only your phone calls, 24/7. Transferring the files to your computer is super easy.

5.0 out of 5 stars Personal Call Logger, August 3, 2006
This review is from: Digital Loggers Personal Call Logger (Electronics)
I have owned this system for over 2 years, and although it is the only pc telephone recording system I have ever used, it has been a reliable means for me to keep track of my schedule with 3 growing kids. It is simple to set up, comes with all you need, starts recording when any extension is lifted, and comes with software that helps you organize the calls you want to keep. I now have an external hard drive that I use for my pc back up and all calls. I finally decided to keep all the calls, and maybe it will end up being some kind of keepsake, as my girls talk to their friends, etc. But also, if I talk to my attorney, don't have pen and paper to get a number, for whatever reason, if I need to hear a call, its always been there. The price for what you get still amazes me. Can you imagine trying to do this with cassete tapes?

Anyone needing these features will not be disappointed,
