Editorial Reviews

The digitization of images is changing how photos are created, consumed and managed. It is estimated that in 2000 there were 80 billion new photos taken per year. This number increases greatly every year. Within publishing there has been a great deal of focus on digital photography, editing digital photos in programs like Photoshop and other technical aspects of digital photography. However, curiously there has been little attention given to how to actually manage digital photos. This production does just that. It demonstrates how to efficiently manage a growing image database covering issues from how to get the most from photo and media managers to photo backup. The focus in this production is on both software training and on concept explanation. Sections - Inroduction to Digital Photo Management - Digital vs. Non Digital Media - Selecting a Media Manager - Why Use Multiple Photo Managers? - Where to Save Your Digital Media - Download Pictures from a Digital Camera - Resizing Photos in Batch - ACDSee 8 Photo Manager Part 1 Basic File Organization and Searching - ACDSee 8 Photo Manager Part 2 : Customizing the View to Match Your Needs - ACDSee 8 Photo Manager Part 3: Editing and Creating Media, FTP Integration and DVD Burning - Nested Tags and Video Files in Adobe Photoshop Album 2 - Autofill Searching and Collections with Picasa2 - Derivative Content Creation with Picasa2 - BreezeBrowser Pro and RAW Camera Formats - BreezeBrowser Pro: The Photographer's Photo Manager - Using The Right Browser for Viewing and Saving Media - Obtaining Rights Managed and Royalty Free Stock Photos - Scanning and Organizing Multiple Document Scans with ACDSee 8
