I struggled for years with photoshop elements and had just about given up. I even went out and bought another program to process my photos. This books puts it in easy to use, step by step instruction. The author makes it so easy and the user becomes very proficient and comfortable with Elements very quickly. Included are photos of the screens to use to enhance your photos in numerical sequence and walks the user through the process beginning to end.
The information about digital photography, lighting etc. is also most helpful and makes the entire digital experience easy to understand. This is the very best book about digital photography and Photoshop Elements I have ever seen and I have bought them all from the Idiot's Guides to books about Elements. This is the absolutely MUST have for anyone who is just starting to use a digital camera to the semi advanced user! Highly recommended.

I HAVE HAD A DIGITAL CAMERA FOR A FEW YEARS NOW BUT ONLY RECENTLY BECAME INTERESTED IN BECOMING MORE ADVANCED. I AM HALF WAY THROUGH THIS BOOK AND HAVE ALREADY LEARNED AN UNBELIEVABLE AMOUNT OF INFORMATION THAT WILL BE VERY HELPFUL IN CREATING EXCELLENT QUALITY PICTURES. This guide includes all the basics you need to cover in order to become a better digital photographer. Covering everything from the basics of light,composition and editing this is a comprehensive and easy to use guide for anyone interested in advancing their skill in the realm of digital photographs. Clear vibrant images along with colour coded sections for each topic covered make this an excellent choice as a reference guide for photographers of any skill level. Great price too!

This book has given me so many useful tips, I am finding it difficult to get off of my computer. I just keep trying different techniques that I get out of the book and am amazed with the results.

Michael Wright's book is essential for anyone with a digital camera. It is chock-full of useful tips and techniques regardless of your skill level. How many of you have bought a digital camera just because it was the latest thing, and everyone said it was great--but you *really* don't know how to use it? Well, this book is for you!

The photography that accompanies each section is just gorgeous, and the information has made me a better photographer. I can also edit my photos on the computer with expertise now! Definitely worth a look.

This book was very helpful and insightful into building my digital photography skills. The author laid-out simple concepts and principles that were easy to understand and put to use. I would have liked more photos!

Was quite impressed with this book. The text & pictures work well together and the author is very knowledgable and informative. He has a Mac/Adobe focus on the software sections, but not that big of a deal, still some very useful information.

The visual approach is excellent and helpful in learning to use Photoshop as it is applied to digital photography. This book and one that explains the basics of photography is all that a beginner really needs to get started.

Covering Photoshop essentials in general, including Photoshop 7 and Photoshop CS in particular, "Digital Photography" addresses simple and complex retouching techniques, removing 'red eye' from images, cloning, hand tinting, restoring old photographs, photo montages, digital painting, adding text to images, special effects, storing images, creating photo essays, printing, file size, composition, color theory, bracketing, lighting, backgrounding, and so much more. "Digital Photograph" is a single volume instructional guide that is strongly recommended for anyone aspiring to enhance their photography through Photoshop technology.

This book is not about about how to take better digital photos. It's a book that gives step by step instructions on how to do numerous photo editing. If you're not experienced in PhotoShop, then I highly recommend this book. For a novice, it might be a good refresher for you.

One of the things I love about this book is it actually does give step-by-step visuals on the how tos. It shows you what the photoshop box will look like, tells you were to find the tools you need, etc.

If that's what you're looking for, then this book is ideal for you. As I said, if you're a novice, it's a nice refresher or quick reference book.
