Highly recommended!,

This review is from: Digital Photography Visual Quick Tips (Paperback)
Visual Quick Tips is definitely is on my "don't leave home without it" list. It is an essential part of anyone's photo bag. For the beginner to expert, Visual Quick Tips stimulates your creativity, reminds you of solutions, and increases the "dynamic range" of your thinking! It is like having a professional photographer readily available as a mentor whispering in your ear "Try this". Easy to read, easy to find your topic, it concisely gives you the answer on how to get a WOW picture.
I have a library of photography "how-to" books, but this one, on two, pages, taught me more about depth of field and assessing the shooting conditions then all of them combined! Sometimes you need a book not to just give you the answers, but to help you ask the questions that will let you take better pictures. Just when I thought it covered everything, I got to the back chapters on organizing, printing and creative ways of sharing photos! This is one book that will be well used! And the best part is its size is so easy to slip into a pocket or small camera case. I highly recommend it to all digital photographers! I know you will enjoy it. Joyce Carmel

If you're starting in digital photography, this makes a good field guide.
It's paperback sized and fits in you're back pocket or in a med. sized camera case. This book covers all the basics plus some other tips and tricks that are good to know with digital. If you're switching from SLR to dig. SLR or just haven't shot any thing in a while it's a good book to have on hand.

This review is from: Digital Photography Visual Quick Tips (Paperback)
I'm an amateur photographer. I used this book by just thumbing through it, reading only sections that inform me. Actually, I read a lot of sections.
Visual Quick Tips is clearly written and has very practical information. And the price is right. Serious amateur photographers should know everything in this book. Of course, many other books do exist. This should NOT be your first choice. You should first get a book written expressly for your new camera or a beginners book. Then get this book - or one similar but more up to date. Photo technology is moving fast, but you can start at the beginning and expand quickly towards your own narrow special interests. Specialization is the key to success in many fields. Be fast on learning and slow on buying equipment. |
