4.0 out of 5 stars An Excellent choice.
As a professional photographer, I found the book to be well written and covered the basics well, though I knew most of the material covered, I did pick up on a few tidbits. The photos are inspiring and get the creative juices flowing.

3.0 out of 5 stars Beginner or Amatuer Level Guide
Though the book contains several great photos, it is written for someone very new to digital cameras and contains thorough explanations of how digital technology works. I don't recommend this for anyone with any basic knowledge of how to use your digital camera. Though I do recommend it if you are new to digital photography. It also suffers from another tech side...

5.0 out of 5 stars Great Photographs, February 19, 2006
This review is from: Digital Portrait Photography of Teens and Seniors: Shooting and Selling Techniques for Photographers (Paperback)
The senior photography in this book alone makes it worth the price. The images are creative and inspiring. The sections of the text regarding digital photography are pretty basic, but the marketing ideas are solid. Definetly a worthwhile investment

5.0 out of 5 stars Great Ideas, April 2, 2006
This review is from: Digital Portrait Photography of Teens and Seniors: Shooting and Selling Techniques for Photographers (Paperback)
I found many great ideas in reading this book. The author devotes a good portion of this book to making your own backgrounds and sets. That was very helpful and will save me thousands of dollars, not to mention have my studio look different than my competitors.

There were many creative pictures throughout this book that will provide any photographer with great posing ideas. This book is far better than most of the posing books that I have read.

5.0 out of 5 stars Great Book On Senior Photography, February 22, 2006
This review is from: Digital Portrait Photography of Teens and Seniors: Shooting and Selling Techniques for Photographers (Paperback)
This is the best book that I have read on senior photography since Larry Peter's last book (Larry it is time to write another book).

The photographs are fresh and interesting and I got a lot of great posing ideas. All of Mr. Rice's books are easy to read and easy to understand.

This book really should have been called Marketing Senior Photography because that is what most of it is all about. His ideas on Ambassador programs will be able to be helpful to my business immediately. Thanks for sharing such great ideas with photographers evrywhere!

5.0 out of 5 stars Just What I Was Looking For!, March 31, 2006
This review is from: Digital Portrait Photography of Teens and Seniors: Shooting and Selling Techniques for Photographers (Paperback)
This book was just I was looking for.As a senior photographer, this book gave me a lot of great ideas.

The photographs are really great. I learned lots of new pose ideas that I can use right away.

The marketing ideas are what I really needed most. My senior business had dropped off in recent years and these ideas should really give it a boost.

I am happy with this book and highly recommend it to any senior photography.

5.0 out of 5 stars Excellent Book for any senior photographer, March 28, 2006

This review is from: Digital Portrait Photography of Teens and Seniors: Shooting and Selling Techniques for Photographers (Paperback)
Wow, what a wealth of information. The author takes the time to completely cover the subject of high school senior photography in the digital age.

There is extensive information about digital camera usage, working with digital files and even some Photoshop. The best part of this book is the marketing ideas. The author and other photographers share their best business tips and how they get more seniors into their studio. There is some great information here that I have not seen in other books on this subject.

Last, there is some first class photography throughout this book. Great use of backgrounds and sets. I highly recommend this book!

5.0 out of 5 stars Ideal Book for Senior Photographers, March 20, 2006
This review is from: Digital Portrait Photography of Teens and Seniors: Shooting and Selling Techniques for Photographers (Paperback)
This is an ideal book for any senior photographer. The author has some great ideas on how to make your own creative backgrounds that your competition won't have. His use of props and clothing is very clever.

There are a bunch of great marketing ideas throughout the book. Any one of them is certain to make you more money.

The photographs in the book are very well done. I didn't realize at first that many photographers contributed pictures for this book. I think it is great the author did not just include his pictures.

5.0 out of 5 stars Marketing - It's all about marketing - and my digital camera, March 4, 2006
This review is from: Digital Portrait Photography of Teens and Seniors: Shooting and Selling Techniques for Photographers (Paperback)
This book is great! It is not only a step by step guide to taking great digital photos - from the basics to lighting and other special effects - it is a wonderful marketing guide on how to market your photography business, stand out amongst others and how to truly be successful in this business.

In today's world as every household practically now owns their own digital camera and can upload and print pictures from their computer or run to the nearest Wal-mart for processing and package creations, a professional photographer must do something special, or offer something special to make a parent want to use them for their Senior's pictures. This book shows you just what to do and how to do it. It is very comprehensive, easy to read and can be put into immediate use. I have already changed my whole marketing approach for this year's Seniors market. Thank you!!!!
