HANDHELD DIGITAL TV

Customer Questions & Answers

Customer Reviews

I did get it to pick up 2 of 8 available channels.

Within sight of the transmission towers, this TV was only able to pick up half the stations, which were weak and required multiple repositioning of the whip aerial.
Mulroon
I tried to return them and was informed at that time it was a clearance item and therefore non-refundable.

The big problem with all Digital Prism TV's are the tuners. They just can not pull in the digital stations, period!
This handheld tv picked up exactly "no" stations. And Im right in a major city. Tried it in different locations citywide, and still not one channel came in. As to those prism tv's with a pull-up antenna, the 9" and 7", same story. No channels. Not one!
I did hook up my old rooftop tv antenna, and then we got all the local digital stations. But how many people cary around a rooftop antenna in their pocket??? No you will not like this tv at all. And the issue is digital prism just failed to install quality digital tuners. Companies make devices with quality good tuners... Digital Prism is not one of them. I don't really know what u'd use this tv for??? It sure can not pick up stations. So whats the point?

I bought this for baseball games at Oriole Park at Camden Yards in Baltimore. I scanned for available channels in five different areas inside the ballpark. The TV could never find more than 3 or 4 channels at a time. On most of the channels the picture severly pixelated or froze completely. The only channels that played without too much problem were MPT channel 22 and WNUV channel 54. But even then, they only played in parts of the ballpark and not in others.

I also tried finding channels in northeast part of Maryland, in south Jersey, and outside Giants Stadium - nothing.

Save your money on this one.

Purchased two of these locally for $20 each. Neither one could find more than half the local stations that come in strong on my other digital televisions. Of the stations that were found, none would play for more than a few seconds without locking up and loosing signal.

Both are being returned today. Even the low price doesn't justify this purchase!

No signal, no signal, no signal. It scans and scans, but never finds a signal. As another reviewer stated, you get what you pay for. Even at $20 this product is overpriced. Nice FM radio, but I already have one. Thanks, but no thanks.

Purchased in TX and it did not pick up any stations in the country area, but when I went to the Houston area the TV picked up over 32 channels on its first scan, and they come in very well; it does not lose its signal. I guess it depends where you are. Good luck!

I have just gotten the digital prism 3.5 inch tv. It picks up rather poorly if at all. I went to a high hill close to where I live and got 4 stations, two showed weak on signal strength. They should have put some kind of antenna booster in this one. It picks up NO channels near my house. Yeah, the FM tuner works okay. This means I bought a TV that works better as a radio. Glad I didn't pay full price for this hunk of junk.

Within sight of the transmission towers, this TV was only able to pick up half the stations, which were weak and required multiple repositioning of the whip aerial. From four miles away, only one station would come in, with plenty of picture pixelation and breakup. I returned mine.

I bought two of these at Office Depot for Hurricane Prep; apparently it was on Clearance. I went in for the 7" and they were sold out and the clerk recommended the 3.5". The entire line of Digital Prism Portable TVs were on clearance. I charged the batteries per the instructions and neither TV was able to pick up any channels. I tried it in three cities (within Tampa Bay) and no luck, no where. I tried to return them and was informed at that time it was a clearance item and therefore non-refundable. It wasn't marked as a clearance item and the staff didn't tell me it was clearance. I only wish there was a rating of "0" because this thing only powered up. Beyond that, it just did not work. Is it the TV or poor infrastructure? I'm rather undecided. I remember the analog days when no matter where you were you could get some type of signal with just an antenna. So, with the full conversion to digital, I don't understand why the digital TVs aren't working. The radio worked; but I'm a TV person. What are we to do for emergencies when the portable, battery-operated TVs don't work?
