I am living in South FL and had the same problem every summer that the lawn was eaten away by fungus. Fungicide did provide temporary relief in the past. After using this Tester I found out that the soil had PH of 4.0 - 4.5. After one time application of lime to the lawn the PH was increased to around 6 and within a couple weeks the grass was already growing again.

I bought this about three weeks ago to test my potted plants ph and moisture. It told me exactly what I thought was going on, low PH throughout my houses potted plants, also I was overwatering them. Great indications and great ease of use.

Would recommend after searching long and hard for a good PH tester at a good price.

I was somewhat skeptical ordering this soil probe because of it's small size ,but after taking just one sample with it ,I found it to be the finest soil probe I have ever used in over 30 years of soil testing .The quality is excellent and I can easily take a 6 inch core sample with this probe . The ph meter isn't worth a crap, it reads 5.5 ph or lower or just says low ph no matter what, and in using another ph meter that reads 6.8. The light meter part of it is more a novelty because it doesn't give any actual lumine number, or actual usable information. The thermometer is useful for checking the temperature of the room but the moisture meter is wonderful. It's worth getting for the moisture meter and checking the temperature of the air.

I needed to get some soil samples from my yard so I could know what I needed to do for my lawn. The ground in my yard really isn't hard, I was able to push through it without a massive amount of effort. After about the 10th sample, the probe bent wildly. I'm no probe pro, so I don't know if this is typical, but it sure doesn't seem like it should be! The rest of the probes were taken with a pair of pliers in hand and I'd have to bend the probe back into shape (sort of) after each probe. Now it's pretty much useless. For $30, I would think it would last for more than a one-time use. But what do I know?

I gave it two stars because I was able to actually get the soil samples I need, but I shouldn't have had to spend so much effort with fixing the probe itself, IMO. And now it's basically not usable. Definitely don't buy this probe.

Bought this tool origionally to check ph levels for my lawn grass. Works great! I now find myself checking roses, and my other plants for moisture aswell. Nice digital display, even illuminates a green background too. Neat gadget!

This is a very handy and versatile little gadget for anybody who loves their plants. It takes several types of measurements including soil moisture, soil pH, soil temperature, and light levels.

This is basically some cheap piece of junk made over seas. Waste of money and shipping charges for added insult, worked for 2 days after that nothing but a 7.0 reading. The only way Id ever buy this again is if they were disposable and sold as a pack of 10 for $3.00.

The manufacturer does not respond. I do not recommend this product.

so i have had this meter for just under a year now, and it has worked out great until recently the screen really dimmed a lot. also i am not really sure if you can measure liquid with it, i have, and it seems to read it. however i am not sure if it will damage it. it reads ph, temp, water content, and light. a good tool. the light meter is ok i guess, but not good for reading lumins which sucks... id say it is worth the money.
