Sammy's science house,
By MaryepK (Manassas Virginia USA) - See all my reviews

This is an excellent pre school introduction to science. All three of my children loved it as preschoolers. I recommended it to my preschool teacher, who went to a teacher training where they raved about it. I love the sorting game, where the categories are flexible and fluid, where one item can belong in several bins. The movies are great for working with before and after, although there is only one solution, you can play it backwards! My children always loved that. It is a kind game, without violence or commercialization. One of the few games I'll let my preschooler play.

Amazon Verified Purchase(What's this?)
This review is from: Sammy's Science House (CD-ROM)
I ordered this item and the item that I was sent did not work on Mac OS X. An earlier version of the software that only runs on Mac OS9 and earlier was sent. Considering that there is a version of this software that runs natively on OSX, the seller should remove OS X from the description and state the correct information.

Good program, but old. Doesn't work with Vista 64-bit,
This review is from: Sammy's Science House (CD-ROM)
This software package was first released in 1994 to run on Windows 3.1. It runs on 32-bit versions of Windows OK, but will not run on 64-bit even in compatibility mode. The kids in my son's kindergarten class love it, and it runs fine on the older computers they have at the school, which run Windows XP 32-bit. I was hoping to get it up and running on my new computer at home, but could not. Not worth the time and effort to set up a Windows 32-bit partition just for one program. Perhaps Windows 7 will do better with older programs.
