Editorial Reviews

Terranova is Fetisch plus special guests. Born in Berlin, Fetisch left home at 16 to live in New York and London. Most of his youth was spent in nightclubs and he was soon swept away by DJ’ing. He then returned to Berlin in 1994 to form Terranova. After releases on Compost and R&S Records, Terranova quickly gained international recognition with their collaboration with Legendary Manuel Goettsching.

A deal with !K7 was signed and in the years to follow Terranova acclaimed international success with the release of an edition of the label’s acclaimed DJ Kicks series and full-length albums Close The Door, Hitchhiking Non-Stop, and Peace Is Tough. Guests on these albums included Tricky, Mike Ladd, Ari-Up (Slits), Cath Coffey (Stereo MC´S) and Einstuerzende Neubauten.

On Digital Tenderness, Terranova decided to limit the toys, tools and people involved, creating a clear, electronic song-orientated, romantic sound. This album should be listened to while getting dressed, undressed, making love, smoking, drinking, driving, ironing and as loud as possible.

3.0 out of 5 stars Eh., January 22, 2005
This review is from: Digital Tenderness (Audio CD)
I don't regret buying this album, but I only paid two dollars for it. It sort of sounds like Black Cherry without Goldfrapp, and with a vaguely annoying woman instead. You know all those irritating groups that got signed after Dummy came out that had sort of the same idea but sucked a lot more? I guess this is like the Goldfrapp version of that. But the arrangements sound really good. I think I made it to track ten before I turned it off. An instrumental version would be really nice.
