This review is from: Digital Video: An Introduction (Paperback)
I'm an independent filmmaker with a lot of experience, and recently one of my actors asked me to recommend a good general book on video techniques. I had this one in mind already, but I went through my current collection plus the local Borders film section to make sure. Nothing comes close to this book.
It doesn't go extremely in-depth in any one topic (more than a few pages), but the range of knowledge on this subject is so vast that no book could hold it all. This book gives a very good crash-course on almost everything you need to know in order to make great videos for any purpose. My only criticism is that one page shows ("in order to demonstrate a photographic principle") a woman's bare breasts. I inked that photo out before giving the book to my friend. |
